E 2 Y él dijó: Varones hermanos, y padres, escuchad; El Dios de la gloria apareció á nuestro padre Abraham cuando estaba en Mesopotamia, antes que morase en Charran. 3 Y le dijo: sal de tu tierra, y de tu parentela, y ven á la tierra que te mostraré. 4 Entonces salió de la tierra de los Chaldeos, y habitó en Charran, y de allí despues de muerto su padre, le traspasó á esta tierra, en la cual vosotros habitais ahora. 5 Y no le dió heredad alguna en ella, ni aun el espacio de un pie de tierra; mas prometió que se la daría á él en posesion, y á su simiente despues de él, cuando no tenía aun hijo. 6 Y Dios habló así: que su simiente sería estrangera en tierra | agena, y que la reducirían á servi- | dumbre, y que la maltratarían por espacio de cuatrocientos años. 7 Y á la nacion de la cual ellos serán siervos, yo la juzgaré dijó Dios; y despues de esto saldrán, y me servirán á mí en este lugar. 8 Y les dió el pacto de la circuncision. Y así Abraham engendró á Isaac, y le circuncidó al octavo dia. Y nuestros padres no hallaban sustento. 10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house. 11 Now there came a dearth over all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction: and our fathers found no sustenance. 12 Y como oyese Jacob que en 12 But when Jacob heard that Egipto había trigo, envió la prime-there was corn in Egypt, he sent ra vez á nuestros padres. 13 Y en la segunda Joséph fué conocido de sus hermanos, y el linage de Joséph fué descubierto á Pharaon. 14 Y Joséph mandó llamar á su padre Jacob, y á toda su parentela, que era de setenta y cinco personas. 15 Así Jacob descendió á Egipto, y murió él y todos nuestros padres. 16 Y fueron llevados á Sichem, y puestos en el sepulcro que compró Abraham por una suma de dinero, de los hijos de Hemor, padre de Sichem. 17 Mas cuando se acercó el tiempo de la promesa que había Dios jurado á Abraham, creció el pueblo, y se multiplicó en Egipto. 18 Hásta que se levantó otro Rey, que no conocía á Joséph. 19 Este usando de astucia contra nuestra nacion, trató mal á nuestros padres, haciendo que abandonasen á sus hijos á fin de que no viviesen. 20 En aquel mismo tiempo nació Moysés, y fué agradable á Dios, y fué criado tres meses en casa de su padre. 21 Mas cuando fué abandonado, la hija de Pharaon le tomó, y le crió como si fuese hijo suyo. out our fathers first. 13 And at the second time Joseph was made known to his brethren; and Joseph's kindred was made known unto Pharaoh. 14 Then sent Joseph, and called his father Jacob to him, and all his kindred, threescore and fifteen souls. 15 So Jacob went down into Egypt, and died, he, and our fathers, 16 And were carried over into Sychem, and laid in the sepulchre that Abraham bought for a sum of money of the sons of Emmor, the father of Sychem. 17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt, 18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph. 19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live. 20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months: 21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son. 22 Y Moysés fué enseñado en to- 22 And Moses was learned in all da la sabiduría de los Egipcios, y the wisdom of the Egyptians, and erá poderoso en palabras, y en was mighty in words and in deeds, obras. 23 Y cuando hubo cumplido la edad de cuarenta años, le vinó al corazon el visitar á sus hermanos los hijos de Israel. 24 Y como viese á uno que era injuriado, le defendió, y vengó al que era oprimido matando al Egipcio. 25 Porque él pensabá que sus hermanos habrían entendido, que Dios les había de dar salud por su mano: mas ellos no lo entendieron. 26 Y al dia siguiente riñendo ellos, se les mostró, y los metía en paz, diciendo; Varones, hermanos sois, ¿ porqué os injuriais los unos á los otros? 27 Mas el que injuriaba á su progimo, le desecho, diciendo: ¿quién te ha constituido príncipe, y juez sobre nosotros? 28 Quieres tú matarme, como mataste ayer al Egipcio? 29 A esta palabra huyó Moysés, y moró como extrangero en tierra de Madian, en donde engendró dos hijos. 30 Y cumplidos cuarenta años, un ángel del Señor le apareció en el desierto del monte de Sinai en la llamá de fuego de una zarza. 31 Cuando Moysés lo vió, se maravilló de esta vision, y como se acercaba para considerarla, la voz del Señor le fué dirigida, 32 Diciendo: Yo soy el Dios de tus padres, el Dios de Abraham, y el Dios de Isaac, y el Dios de Jacob. Mas Moysés espantado no osaba mirar. 33 Y le dijó el Señor: quitate los zapatos de los pies: Porque el lugar en que estás, tierra santa es. 34 He visto, he visto la afliccion de mi pueblo que está en Egipto, y he oido su gemido, y he descendido para librarlos: Ahora pues ven, y te enviaré á Egipto. 35 A este Moysés á quien ellos 23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel. 24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian: 25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them; but they understood not. 26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another? 27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us? 28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou didst the Egyptian yesterday? 29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons. 30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush. 31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the Lord came unto him, 32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold. 33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground. 34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt. 35 This Moses whom they re lesecharon, diciendo: ¿quién te ha | fused, saying, Who made thee a constituido Príncipe y Juez? A este envió Dios por Príncipe y ReHentor por mano del ángel, que se le apareció en la zarza. 36 Este los sacó haciendo prodigios y milagros en tierra de Egipto, y en el mar rojo, y en el desierto, por espacio de cuarenta años. 37 Este es aquel Moysés que dijó á los hijos de Israel: Profeta os levantará el Señor Dios vuestro de vuestros hermanos, como yo: á él oiréis. 38 Este es el que estuvo en la Iglesia en el desierto con el ángel, que le hablaba en el monte Sinai, y con nuestros padres, y recibió las palabras de vida para darnoslas. 39 A quien no quisieron obedecer nuestros padres, antes le desecharon, y en sus corazones volvieron otra vez á Egipto. 40 Diciendo á Aaron: haznos dioses, que vayan delante de nosotros, porque por lo que toca á este Moysés, que nos sacó de tierra de Egipto, no sabemos lo que le ha sucedido. 41 E hicieron un becerro en aquellos dias, y ofrecieron sacrificio al ídolo, y se holgaron en las obras de sus manos. 42 Mas Dios les volvió las espaldas, y los abandonó paraque sirviesen la hueste del cielo como esta escrito en el libro de los Profetas: ¿Por ventura me ofrecisteis víctisacrificios, o casa de Israel, por espacio de cuarenta años en el desierto? mas 43 Antes tomasteis el tabernáculo de Moloch, y la estrella de vuestro dios Remphain, figuras que os hicisteis para adorarlas. Os transportaré pues mas allá de Babilonia. 44 Nuestros padres tuvieron al tabernáculo del testimonio en el desierto, como había Dios ordenado hablando á Moysés, paraque le hi ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush. 36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years. 37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear. 38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: 39 To whom our fathers would not obey, but thrust him from them, and in their hearts turned back again into Egypt, 40 Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 41 And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands. 42 Then God turned, and gave them up to worship the host of heaven; as it is written in the book of the prophets, O ye house of Israel, have ye offered to me slain beasts and sacrifices by the space of forty years in the wilderness? 43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon. 44 Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it ac ciese segun la forma que había | cording to the fashion that he had visto. 45 El cual tambien nuestros padres que vinieron despues, le trageron con Jesus á la posesion de los Gentiles, á quienes Dios había echado de la presencia de nuestros padres hasta los dias de David, 46 El cual halló gracia delante de Dios, y pidió hallar tabernáculo para el Dios de Jacob. 47 Mas Salomon le edificó casa. 48 Pero el Altisimo no morá en templos hechos de mano, como dice el Profeta. seen. 45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with Jesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David; 46 Who found favour before God, and desired to find a tabernacle for the God of Jacob. 47 But Solomon built him a house. 48 Howbeit the Most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49 Heaven is my throne, and 49 El cielo es mi trono, y la tierra el estrado de mis pies: ¿qué ca-earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? 50 Hath not my hand made all these things? sa me edificaréis dice el Señor? ¿O cuál es el lugar de mi reposo? 50 ¿No hizó mi mano todas estas cosas? 51 Duros de cerviz é incircumci sos de corazon, y de oidos: vosotros resistis siempre al Espíritu Santo. Como hicieron vuestros padres, así tambien haceis vosotros. 52 ¿A cuál de los profetas no persiguieron tambien vuestros padres? Y los testigos 55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. 57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, 58 And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witness |
