SECOND PART 18TH PSALM.

THE Lord descended from above,

And bow'd the heavens high;
And underneath his feet he cast
The darkness of the sky.

On Cherubs and on Cherubims
Full royally he rode,

And on the wings of mighty winds
Came flying all abroad.

To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
All glory, be therefore;

As in beginning, was, is now,

And shall be evermore.

PSALM XIX:

THE spacious firmament on high,

With all the blue etherial sky,

And spangled heav'ns, a shining frame,
Their Great Original proclaim.

Th' unwearied sun from day to day,
Doth his Creator's power display;
And publishes to ev'ry land,

The work of an Almighty hand.

Soon as the evening shades prevail,
The mocn takes up the wond'rous tale,
And nightly to the list'ning earth,
Repeats the story of her birth;

Whilst all the stars which round her burn,

And all the planets in their turn,

Confirm the tidings as they roll,

And spread the truth from pole to pole.

What tho' in solemn silence, all

Move round this dark terrestrial ball,
What tho' no real voice or sound
Amidst their radiant orbs be found;

In reason's ear they all rejoice,
And utter forth a glorious voice;
For ever singing as they shine-
"The hand that made us is divine.”

PSALM XXI.

THE King, O Lord, with songs of praise, Shall in thy strength rejoice,

With thy salvation crown'd, shall raise

To heav'n his cheerful voice.

Thy sure defence thro' nations round,
Has spread his glorious name,
And his successful actions crown'd
With majesty and fame.

Because the King on God alone
For timely aid relies,

His mercy still supports his throne,
And all his wants supplies.

PSALM XXII.

My God, my God, why leav'st thou me
When I with anguish faint?

O! why so far from me remov'd,
And from my loud complaint?

All day, but all the day unheard,
To thee do I complain;

With cries implore relief all night,

But cry all night in vain.

Withdraw not then so far from me,
When trouble is so nigh;

O send me help! thy help! on which

I only can rely.

Thus in thy sacred courts will I

My cheerful thanks express,

In presence of thy saints perform 2

SECOND PART 23RD PSALMAN

THE Lord himself, the mighty Lord

Vouchsafes to be my guide;

The Shepherd, by whose constant care r My wants are all supply'd.

In tender grass he makes me feed,

And gently there repose;

Then leads me to cool shades, and where Refreshing water flows.
