MISCELLANEOUS.

The Mersey Chemical Works, situated at Bromborough Port, New Ferry, Birkenhead, were sold by auction by Messrs. Wheatley Kirk, Price, and Co., of Manchester, on March 28. The property, which included freehold works premises, plant and machinery, electric light and power installation, was offered in one lot, and the bidding at the well-attended sale was brisk. purchaser was Colonel Brotherton, of Messrs. Brotherton and Co., Leeds, Glasgow, and elsewhere, tar distillers, and the purchase price was £135,000.
