Undeniable is our LORD, "a GoD of truth, and without iniquity; just and right is HE." Is it possible that this GoD should have decreed the latter end of the days to our chastisement? Should that be our reward for the sacrification of the lives of our forefathers? Who, by force, suffered death, plagues, and pains of every invention, for the sake of hallowing his name, and to be firm in their faith; particularly, all the Prophets predict honour and fame to Israel at the latter end of the days, when the Messiah comes. These undeniable facts the Sophists contradict without a single substantiation; therefore place no confidence, and believe not in their idle tongues.

Job, viii. 3. "Doth GoD prevent judgment? or doth the Almighty pervert justice." Isaiah, xviii. 1, 2 and 3. says, upon the future time, "Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia: That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose lands the rivers have spoiled! All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye." This prophecy is not fulfilled yet, equal as little as is said of the real redemption at the arrival of the true Messiah. How could he be come at the

of the seven days:" (for the light of the six days shall be comprehended in that of the seventh, and this is on the seventh at the end of the six thousand years). "In the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound." All this shall be at the expiration of the six days: and on the sixth, at evening of the six thousand years, they shall conclude. This is called the latter end of the days.

Our date of the present year, calculated from the creation of the world, is five thousand five hundred and eighty-two, which is with us the sixth day of the week after noon-day, consequently near sunset, and then the day is ended.

And when the sixth day is terminated, then beams the light of the Sabbath of the seventh thousand year, which will bring rest, continual bliss, and salvation.

The passed six thousand years are the six days of work which produced anxiety, misery, and wretchedness; but at the expiration of these, or in the future, it shall be as Isaiah says, li. 11. "Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion, and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy, and sorrow and mouring shall flee away." I leave it to the reader to examine in which manner the explanations of the Sophists can be correct, namely, that the Patriarch Jacob predicted the chastisement to the six days of labour as well as to the seventh. Every body must feel conscious that Gop created the world in six days; at the same time he decreed that she should last six thousand years, and one thousand are in the eyes of GoD as one day. (See Psa. xc. 4. &c.) Consequently the world is to continue six thousand years; as may be read in Tractal Pirk Rabbi Eliezar, ch. 2. In which Tractal he expresses that God has seven consecrations in the creation of the world; six he anointed, and one he left for future centuries; for he created the first day, wherein his work was finished, and anointed that day: as it is written in Gen. i. 5. "And the evening and the morning were the first day." He created the second day; therein his work was finished, and dedicated, as the text expresses, Ib. "And the evening and the morning were the second day; and so until the seventh. He created the seventh, and no work is mentioned therein, neither are therein said the words of, "And the evening and the morning were," on account of being left until future centuries.

Thus says Zech. xiv. 7. "And shall become one day, which shall be known to the LORD, not day nor night," (namely, where neither evening nor morning is named in); " but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light:" (therewith is meant the evening at the end of the six thousand years). Isa. xxx. 26. "Moreover, the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun; shall be seven-fold, as the light
