To write a fifteenth Preface for our little Magazine is not quite so easy as it is gratifying. We have but to repeat the oft-told tale of thankfulness for mercies from above, gratitude to our many kind supporters, and a hearty purpose to maintain, as the Lord enables us, a post that we feel to be one of honour and privilege, on the principles and in the spirit that governed our outset. We have never yet seen cause to retract a single opinion on any momentous subject ; least of all on what has been reiterated in our closing paper on the designs, progress and end of the great pro-popish movement unbappily commenced in this country some years previous to our periodical's first appearance. Wave after wave has rolled upon the Church of Christ from that quarter; and alas ! into it too : but God is in the midst of her, therefore she is not moved ; neither shall be while her foundation is the Rock of Ages.
We have many thanks to tender to our kind contributors : among whom we are especially indebted to 'Lydia,' to ·X. Q.,' to 'S. M.,' and 'H. B. M.,' whose aid has been so freely and so perseveringly afforded. The prayers of many prosper our humble labours ; and in the strength of the Lord we again “Go forward.”
