SIR, For the information of His Honour the Lieutenant-Governor, and in accordance with the provisions of the School Act, I have the honour to submit the Twenty-eighth Annual Report on the Public Schools of British Columbia for the school-year ending June 30th, 1899. The number of pupils enrolled during the year was 19,185, an increase of 1,537 over that of the previous year, while the average actual daily attendance was 12,304.32, an increase for the year of 1,248.67. During the year there were 280 schools in operation, an increase of 19.
