I will receive the Cup of Salvation and call upon the Name of the Lord. I will ratify my Vows with this Blood of the new Covenant, and engage myself to be eternally thine, O God!

O confirm, O establish my present good Resolutions; let me never again pollute this Body and Soul, which thou hast redeemed. Blessed is he who eateth and drinketh sacramentally in thy Kingdom of Grace here, he shall sit down and feast with thee in thy Kingdom of Glory hereafter. Amen, Amen.

At the receiving of the Cup.

O SAVIOUR of the World, who by thy precious Blood hast redeemed me; save me and help me, I humbly beseech thee, O Lord.

After the Cup.

LORD, wash me from my Sins through that Blood which I here commemorate ; that being delivered from the Terrors of Guilt and Wrath, I may serve thee without Fear, in Righteousness and Holiness, all the Days of my Life, according to the

Precepts

Precepts of thy Gospel, which thou hast inforced by thy holy Example, and sealed by thy meritorious Sufferings. Amen.

May the Blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without Spot to God, purge my Conscience from dead Works to serve the living God.

O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my Soul: let me be washed and cleansed in the Blood of the Lamb, which was slain from the Foundation of the World.

Blessing and Honour, Thanksgiving and Praise, be unto thee, O Lord, that thou hast been pleased to admit me to these holy Mysteries; that thou hast vouchsafed to feed me a Sinner, thy unworthy Servant, with the spiritual Nourishment of the Body and Blood of thy Son Jesus Christ. Grant, O Lord, that this holy Sacrament may never turn to my Condemnation; but that it may be Health under my Weaknesses; Safety against my spiritual Adversaries; Strength to my holy Resolutions; Comfort under all Calamities; and procure for me Pardon and Forgiveness in this Life; Mercy and Favour at the Day of Judgment, and a neverfading Crown of Glory in the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen.

I HAVE deserved to drink of the Cup of Trembling and Astonishment, and thou, Lord, of thy, Goodness, hast vouchsafed me the Cup of Salvation. O my Lord, by what strong and powerful Ties hast thou engaged my Heart this Day to imitate thee in thy Graces, in thy Meekness, in thy Patience, in thy Humility, in thy Charity, in thy Contempt of this World, and in thy Heavenly-mindedness.. My Heart is fixed, O God, my Heart is fixed: I will sing and give Praise. Here, at thy Altar, I promise Obedience to thy Laws; O be thou my Helper! Assist me, uphold me with thy free Spirit; O Lord, increase my Faith, my Hope, my Love, my Charity; make my Soul a Temple of the Holy Ghost. Come, blessed Spirit, come and dwell in me for ever! Amen, Amen.

For all these stupendous and undeserved Mercies now vouchsafed me, all Glory he to thee, O God the Father; all Glory be to thee, O God the Son; all Glory be to thee, O God the Holy Ghost: Let Heaven and Earth, Men below, and Angels above, join their Praises, and say Amen, Hallelujah.

If the Communion is large, fill up your Time with some Thoughts on such Parts of the Service, as will warm your Affections, and raise a Spirit of Devotion in your Breast.

Pray for your Fellow-Christians that are

present.

O ALMIGHTY God, grant that all who have been Partakers of this Holy Communion, may lead Lives according to thy heavenly Will in all Things; keeping our Bodies undefiled, as a fit Habitation for thy Spirit, that our Souls: may enjoy the saving Benefits of thy Passion.

Blessed are they who dwell in thy House, O Lord. Shower down the Blessings of thy Grace upon us here before thee, and all thy faithful People, whereever else assembled to celebrate this sacred Ordinance. Give us at all Times due Preparation of Soul for a worthy Approach to thy holy Table; And do thou pardon every one, that prepareth his Heart to seek the Lord, the Lord God of his Fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the Purification of the Sanctuary. Let none that are Partakers of this holy Sacrament be found missing at the RightHand of Christ, another Day. We have

all now tasted and seen how gracious the Lord is, for he hath heard our Prayers, and granted our Requests, and redeemed us from the Slavery of Sin and Death. O let not our good Resolutions pass away as the Morning Cloud. Direct and guide us, O Lord, with thy Holy Spirit, that we may continue thine for ever, and daily increase in all Christian Graces more and more, until we come to thine everlasting Kingdom.

Now unto him that loved us, and washed us from our Sins in his Blood, and has made us Kings and Priests unto God, and his Father, to him be Glory and Dominion, for ever and ever.

Then return Home rejoicing, and praising God, and say,

Hallelujah; Salvation be unto our God, and to the Lamb for ever. Amen. Bless the Lord, O my Soul, and all that is within me bless his holy Name.

Bless the Lord, O my Soul, and forget not all his Benefits;

Who forgiveth all thine Iniquities; who healeth all thy Diseases;

Who redeemeth thy Life from Destruction, and crowneth thee with Mercy and Loving-kindness.
