Among the numerous improvements which are so rapidly taking place in this town, as well as the more important ones which are in contemplation, it gives us satisfaction to state, that it is intended to remove the present structure, called the Great Bridge, and in lieu thereof to erect a handsome iron bridge, of nearly double its width. Brighton Entelligence.

DEPARTURE OF THE KING.

THE departure of his Majesty from this home of his affections. to resume the toils of Government and enter into the bustle and fatigue which are the necessary concomitants of Royalty, has for a season shed a gloom over this spot of revelry-but still, however, the hearts of his Majesty's faithful subjects may pine for his gracious presence, the fond idea that though they are lost to sight they are to memory dear, affords a consolation which loyalty alone can know, and every heart looks forward with eagerness to the period which shall again restore him to the affections of his children; for, we fearlessly pronounce that there is not a man in Brighton (worthy of the human form divine), who does not with gratitude feel the paternal solicitude with which our beloved Father has ever watched over the interests of this place.
