33 No man when he hath lighted a candle putteth it in a fecret place,neither under a bufhel: but on a candlestick,that they which come in may fee the light.

34 The light of the body is the eye; therefore when thine eye is fingle, thy whole body alfo is full of light: but when thine eye is evil, thy body alfe is full of darkness.

35. Take heed therefore, that the light which is in thee be not darkness.

44. Wo unto you fcribes and Pharifees, hypocrites: for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them, are not aware of them.

Ith the mean time, when there wereBathered together an innumerable multitude of people, infomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharifees, which is hypocrify. 2 For there is nothing covered, that fhall not be revealed: neither hid, that

fhall not be known.

3. Therefore whatfoever ye have spoken in darkness, fhall be heard in the light: and that which ye have fpoken in the ear in clofets,fhall be proclaimed upon the heufe-tops.

4 And I fay unto you, my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5 But I will forwarn you whom you fhall fear: Fear him, which after he bath killed, hath power to caft into hell, yea, 1 fay unto you, fear him.

6 Are not five fparrows fold for two farthings, and net one of them is forgot ten before God?

7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbred. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many fparrows.

8 Allo I fay unto you, Whosoever fhall confefs me before men, him fhall the Son of man alfo confefs before the angels of God.

23 The life is more than ineat, and the body is more than raiment,

24 Confider the ravens: for they neither fow nor reap, which neither bave kora houfe nor barn, & Gad feedeth them: bow much more are ye better than the fowls?

3. For all these things do the nations of the world feek after and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31 G But rather feek ye the kingdom of God, and all these things fhall be added

unto you.

32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Fathers good pleafure to give you the kingdom.

33 Sell that ye have, and give alms, provide your felves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be alfo.

35 Let your loins be girded about: and your lights burning:

36 And ye your felves like unto men that wait for their Lord, when he will return from the wedd.g that, when ho cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately..

48 But he that knew not and did commit things worthy of ftripes, thall be beaten with few Aripes. For unto whom fecver much is given, of him thall be much equired and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

49 am come to fend fire on the earth, and what will I, if it be already kindled? 50 But I have a baptifm to be baptized with, and how am I ftraitned till it be ac complished!

51 Suppofe ye that I am come to give peace on earth? 1 tell you, Nay, but rather division.

52 For from henceforth there fhall be we in one houfe divided, three againft two and two against three.

33 Nevertheless I must walk to day and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerufalem.

34 O Jerufalem, Jerufalem, which killeft the prophets, and ftoneft them that are fent unto thee: how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a ben dotb gather her brood under bar wings and ye would not?

2 And behold, there was a certain man before him, which had the droplic; 3 And Jefus answering, spake unto the lawyers and Pharifces, faying, Is it lawful to heal on the fabbath-day?

4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed bim, and let bim go:

And anfwered them, faying, Which of you fhall have an afs or an os fallen into a pit, and will not ftraightway pull him out on the fabbath day?

6 And they could not answer him again to these things.

71 And he put forth a parable to thefe which were bidden, when he marked how they choofe out the chief rooms: faying unto them,

8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, fit not down in the highest room, left a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him;

9 And he that bade thee and him, come and fay to thee, Give this man place: and thou begin with thame to take the lowcit room.

10 But when thou art bidden, go and fit down in the lowelt room, that when he that bade thee cometh, he may fay unto thee, Friend, go up higher, then fhalt thou have worthip in the prefence of them that fit at meat with thee.

13 But when thou makeft a feat, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind.

14And thou shalt be bleffed, for they cannot recompenfe thee, for theu fhalt be recompenfed at the refurrection of the jutt.

15 And when one of them that fat at meat with him, heard thefe things, he faid unto him, Bleffed is he that fhall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

16 Then faid he unto him, A certain man made a great fupper, and bade many : 17 And fent his fervant at fupper-time to fay to them that were bidden, Come, for all things are now ready.

18 And they all with one confent began to make excufe. The firft faid unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I muft needs go and see it I pray. thee bare me excused?

30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.

31 Or what king going to make war against another king, titteth not down firft and confulteth whether he be able with ten thousand, to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

32 Or elfe, while the other is yet a great way off, he fendeth an emballage, and defireth conditions of peace.

33 So likewife, whofoever he be of you, that forfaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my difciple.

34. Salt is good: but if the falt have left his favour, wherewith fhall it be feafoned?

Hen drew near unto him all the publicans, and finners, for to hear him. 2 And the Pharifécs and fcribes murmured, faying, This man receiveth finners, and eateth with them.

3 And he fpake this parable unto them, faying,

4 What man of you having an hundred Sheep, if he loofe one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wildernefs, and go after that which is loft, until he find it?

5 And when he hath found is, he layeth on his shoulders, rejoycing,

The prodigal Son.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together bis friends and neighbours, faying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my theep which was lost.

71 fay unto you, that likewife joy shall be in heaven over one finner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine juft perfons, which need no repentance.

8 Either what woman having ten pieces of filver; if the lofe one piece, doth not light a candle, and fweep the houfe, and feek diligently till the find it? 9 And when he hath found it, the ealleth ber friends and her neighbours together, faying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I had loft.

15 And he went and joyned himself to a citizen of that country, and he fent him into his fields to feed fwine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the fwine did cat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he faid, How many hired fervants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare, and perifh with hunger!

18. I will arife, and go to my father, and willTay unto him, Father, I have finned against heaven, and before thee,

19. And am no more worthy to be called thy fon: make me as one of thy hired fervants.

20 And he arofe, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father faw him, and had compaffion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kifled him. And the fon faid unto him, Father, I have finned against heaven, and in thy fight, and am no more worthy to be called thy fon.

22 But the father faid to his fervants, Bring forth the beft robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his band, & thoes on bis feet.

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it, and let us cat and be merry.

24 For this my fon was dead, and is alive again: he was loft and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 New his elder foa was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house he heard mufick and dancing:

26 And he called one of the fervants, and asked what these things meant. 27 And he faid unto him, Thy brother
