Chap. xxv.

The mercy Seat. LORD but they fhall not come nigh; they bring me an offering of every man Deither thall the people go up with him. that giveth it willingly with his heart, ye 3 And Mofes came and told the people fhall take my offering. all the words of the LORD: and all the judgments and all the people answered with one voice, and faid, All the words which the LORD hath faid, will we do.

4 And Mofes wrote all the words of the LORD, and role upearly in the morn ing, and builded an altar under the hill, and twelve pillars according to the twelve tribes of Ifrael.

5 And he fent young men of the children of Ifrael which off red burnt-offerings, and facrificed peace-offerings of oxen unto the LORD.

6 And Mofes took half of the blood, and put it in bafons, and half of the blood he fprinkled on the altar.

7And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people and they faid, All that the LORD hath faid, will we do, and be obedient.

8 And Mofes took the blood, and fprink led it on the people, and faid, behold, the blood of the covenant, which the LORD bath made with you concerning all thele words.

99 Then went up Mofes and Aaron, Na dab and abihu, and feventy of the elders of

Ifrael.

10 And they faw the God of Ifrael: and there was under his feet, as it were a paved work of a fapphire-tone, and as it were the body of heaven in bis clearness.

1 And upon the nobles of the children of Ifrael he laid not his hand alfo they faw God, and did eat and drink.

12 And the LORD faid unto Mofes, Come up to me into the mount, and be there, and I will give you tables of fione, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou mayeft teach them. 13 And Mofes rote up, and his miniter Joshua and Motes went up into the mount of God.

14 And he faid unto the elders, Tarry ye here for us, until we come again unto you and behold, Aaron and Hur are with you: If any man have any matter to do, let him come unto them.

15 And Mofes went up into the mount, and a cloud covered the mount.

16 And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it ix days; and the feventh day he called unto Mofes out of the midft of the cloud.

17 And the fight of the glory of the LORD was like devouring fire on the top of the mourt in the eyes of the children of Ifrael. 18 And Mofes went into the midit cf the cloud, and gat him up into the mount, and Moles was in the mount fourty days, and fourty nights.

CHAP. XXV.

The offering for the tabernacle. 10 The form of the ark. 17 The mercy-feat. 23 The table, 31 and candlestick.

3 And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and filver, and brafs, 4 And blue, and purple, and fcarlet, and fine linnen, and goats-hair, 5 And rams- skins died red, and badgersskins, and hittin wood,

6 Oyl for the light, fpices for anointing oyl, and lor fweet incenie,

7 Onyx-ftones, and ftones to be fet in the ephod and in the breaft-plate.

8 And let them make me a fanctuary, that I may dwell amongst them.

10 And they fhall make an ark of fhittim-wood: two cubits and a hali sball be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

II And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without halt thou overlay it and fhait make upon it a crown of gold round about.

12 And thou shalt caft four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof, and two rings shall be in $ one fide of it, and two rings in the other iide of it.

13 And thou fhalt make ftaves of hittim-wood, and overlay them with gold. 14 And thou shalt put the faves into the rings, by the fides of the ark, that the ark may be born with them.

is The staves fhall be in the rings of the ark; they fhall not be taken from it. 16 And thou shalt put into the ark the teltimony which I fhall give thee.

17 And thou fhalt make a mercy-feat of pure gold; two cubits and an half ball be the length thereof, and a cubit and an half the breadth thereof.

18 And thou inalt make two cherubims of gold of beaten work fhalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy- feat.

19 And make one cherub on the one end and the other cherub on the other end : even of the mercy-feat fhall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.

20 And the cherubims fhail ftretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercyfeat with their wings, and their faces fhall look one to another: toward the mercy-feat fhali the faces of the cherubims be.

21 And thou shalt put the mercy-feat above upon the ark, and in the ark thou fhalt put the teftimony that I shall give thee.

22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee, from above the mercy-feat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the teftimony, of all things I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Ifrael 23 Thou shalt alfo make a table of fhittim- wood, two cubits fhall be the length

26 And thou fhalt make for it four rings of gold, and put the rings in the four corners that are on the four feet thereof. 27 Over against the border shall rings be for places of the ftaves to bear the table. 28 And thou halt make the ftaves of fhittim-wood, and overlay them with gold, that the table may be born with them.

29 And thou fhalt make the dishes thereof, and spoons thereof, and covers thereof, and bowls thereof, to cover withal: of pure gold fhalt thou make them.

30 And thou fhalt fet upon the table, fhew-bread before me always.

314 And thou fhalt make a candleftick of pure gold of beaten work fhall the candlestick be made : his fhaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and his flowers thall be of the fame.

32 And tix branches fhall come out of the fides ofit three branches of candlestick out of the one fide, and three branches of the candlestick out of the other fide.

33 Three bowls made like unto almonds, with a knop & a flower in one branch; and three bowls made like almonds, in other branch, with aknop and a flower: fo in fix branches that come out of the candlestick.

34 And in the candlestick shall be four bowls made like unto almonds, with their knops and their flowers.

35 And there fhall be a knop under two branches of the fame, and a knop under two branches of the fame, and a knop under two branches of the fame, according to the fix branches that proceed out of candlestick. 36 Their knops and their branches ihall be of the fame all it shall be one beaten work of pure gold.

37 And thou shalt make the feven lamps thereof and they fhall light lamps there of, that they may give light over against it. 38 And the tongs thereof, and the fnuff dishes thereof, shall be of pure gold. 39 Of a talent of pure gold fhail he make it, with all thefe veffels.

40 And look that thou make them after their pattern, which was thewed thee in the mount.

CHAP. XXVI. I The ten curtains of the tabernacle. 31 The vail for the ark

Oreover thou shalt make the tabernacle with ten curtains of fine twined linnen, and blue. and purple, and fcarlet: with cherubims of cunning work fhalt thou make them.

2 The length of one curtain fhall be eight and twenty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain, four cubits: and every one of the curtains fhall have one measure.

3 The five curtains fhall be coupled together, one to another: and other five curtains fhall be coupled one to another.

4 And thou halt make loops of blue

upon the edge of the one curtain, from the felvedge in coupling and likewife fhalt thou make in the uttermoft edge of another curtain in the coupling of the fecond.

5 Fifty loops fhalt thou make in the one curtain, and fifty loops fhalt thou make in the edge of the curtain that is in the coupling of the second, that the loops may take hold one of another.

6 And thou shalt make fifty taches of gold, and couple the curtains together with the taches, and it fhall be one tabernacle.

7 And thou fhalt make curtains of goats-hair to be a covering upon the tabernacle; eleven curtains fhalt thou make.

8 The length of one curtain ball be thirty cubits, and the breadth of one curtain four cubits and the eleven curtains ball be all of one measure,

9 And thou shalt couple five curtains by themselves, and fix curtains by themfelves, and fhall double the fixth curtain in the fore front of the tabernacle.

To And thou shalt make fifty loops on the edge of the one curtain that is outmost in the coupling, and fifty loops in the edge of the curtain which coupleth the fecond"

II And thou fhalt make fifty taches of of brafs, and put the taches into the loops, & couple the tent together that it may be one.

12 And the remnant that remaineth of the curtains of the tent, the half curtain that remaineth, fhall hang over the backfide of the tabernacle.

13 And a cubit on the one fide, and a cubit cny other fide of that which remaineth in the length of the curtains of the tent, it thall hang over the fides ofthe tabernacle, on this fide, and on that fide to cover it.

14 And thou fhalt make a covering for the tent, of rams-skins died red,and a covering above of badgers-skins.

15 And thou shalt make boards for the tabernacle of fhittim-wood, ftanding up. 16 Ten cubits jhall be the length of a board, and a cubit and an half jhall be the breadth of one board.

17 Two tenons fhall there be in one board, fet in order one against another : thus fhalt thou make for all the boards of the tabernacle.

18 And thou shalt make the boards for the tabernacle, twenty boards on the fouth-fide, fouth-ward.

19 And thou shalt make fourty fockets of filver, under the twenty boards; two fockets under one board for his two tenons, and two fockets under another board for his two tenons.

20 And for fecond fide of the tabernacle on north-fide, there shall be twenty beards. And their fourty fockets of filver: two fockets under one board, and two fockets under another board.

22 And for the fides of the tabernacle weft ward, thou shalt make fix boatds.

23 And two boards fhalt thou make for corners of the tabernacle in the two fides. 14 And they thall be coupled together beneath, and they fhall be coupled together above, the head of it unto one ring:

Cha. thus fhall it be for them both; they shall be for the two corners.

25 And they shall be eight boards, and their fockets of filver, fixteen fockets: two fockets under one board, and two fockets under another board.

26 And thou fhalt make bars of fhittim-wood: five for the boards of the one fide of the tabernacle.

27 And five bars for the boards of the other fide of the tabernacle, and five bars for the boards of the fide of the tabernacle or the two fides welt ward.

28 And the middle bar in the midst of the boards fhall reach from end to end.

29 And thou shalt overlay the boards with gold, and make their rings of gold, for places for the bars; and thou Thalt overlay the bars with gold.

30 And thou shalt rear up the tabernacle according to the fashion thereof, which was thewed thee in the mount.

31 And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and fcarlet, and fine twined linnen of cunning work with cherubims fhall it be made.

32 And thou fhalt hang it upon four Pillars of hittim-wood, overlaid with gold their hooks fhall be of gold, upon the four fockets of filver.

33 And thou shalt hang up the vail under the taches, that thou mayeft bring in thither within the vail, the ark of the teftimony and the vail fhall divide unto you: between the holy place, and the most holy. 34 And thou ihalt put the mercy-feat upon the ark of the teftimony, in the most holy place.

35 And thou fhalt fet the table without the vail, and the candlestick over against the table, on the fide of the tabernacle to ward the fouth and thou shalt put the table on the north-fide.

36 And thou fhalt make an hanging for the door of the tent, of blue, and purple, and fearlet, and fine twined linen, wrought with needle work.

37 And thou shalt make for the hanging, five pillas of hittim-wood, and overlay them with gold, and their hooks fhal, be of gold, and thou fhait caft five fockets of brafs for them.

CHAP

XXVII 1 The altar of burnt-offering, with the vefJels. 9 The court of the tabernacle. 20 The oyl for lamps.

A

Nd thou shalt make an altar of fhittim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad: the altar fhall be four- fquare, and the height thereof shall be three cubits.

2 And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: bis horns fhall be of the fame; and thou fhalt overJay it with brais.

And thou shalt make his pans to receive his afhes, and his fhovels, & his batfons, and his fleth-hooks, and his fire-pans; all the veffels thereofthou fhalt make of brafs.

xxvii. xxviii.

4. And thou thalt make for it a grate of net-work of brafs, and upon the net thait thou make four brazen rings in the four corners thereof,

The court thereof.

5 And thou fhalt put it under the compafs of the altar beneath. that the net may be even to the midst of the altar.

6 And thou shalt make ftaves for the altar, ftaves of fhittim- wood, and overlay them with brass.

7 And the ftaves fhall be put into the rings, and the flaves fhall be upon the two fides of the altar to bear it.

Hollow with boards fhalt thou make it: as it was fhewed thee in the mount, fe fhall they make it.

9 And thou fhalt make the court of the tabernacle for the fouth-fide, fouth-ward: there shall be hangings for the court of fine twined linnen of an hundred cubits long for one fide.

10 And the twenty pillars thereof, and' their twenty fackets shall be of brafs: the hooks of the pillars, and their fillets ball be of filver.

11 And likewife for the north-fide in length, there fhall be hangings of an hundred cubits long, and his twenty pillars, & their twenty fockets of brass the hooks of the pillars. and their fillets of filver.

12 And for the breadth of the court,on the weit-ide, fhall be hangings of fifty cubits: their pillars ten; & their fockets ten. 13 And the breadth of the court on the caft-fide, eastward, shall be fifty cubits.

14 The hangings of one fide of the gate fhall be fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their fockets three.

15 And on the other fide fhall be hangings fifteen cubits; their pillars three, and their fockets three.

16 And for the gate of the court shall be an hanging of twenty cubits, of blue, and purple, and icarlet, and fine twined linnen, wrought with needle work and their pillars all be four, and their fockets four.

Allthe pillars round about the court ball be filleted with filver: their hooks shall be of filver, and their fockets of brafs.

184 The length of the court shall be an hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty every where, and the height five cubits, of fine twined linnen, and their fockets of brass.

19 All the veffels of the tabernacle in all the fervice thereof, and all the pins thereof, and all pins of the court shall be of brafs.

20 And thou fhalt command the children of Ifrael, that they bring thee pure oyl-olive beaten, for the light, to caufe the lamp to burn always.

In the tabernacle of the congregation without the vail, which is before the teftimony, Aaron and his fons fhall order it from evening to morning before the LORD: It shall be a ftatute for ever unto their generations, on the behalf of the children of Ifrael.

CHAP. XXVIII Aaron and bis Jons are set apart for the Priests office. 6 The ephod, 30 The urim and Thummim.

Nd take thou unto thee Aaron thy bro

Ather, and his fons with him, from among the children of Ifrael, that he may minifter unto me in the priests office, even

2 And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, for glory, & for beauty. 3 And thou fait speak unto all that are wife-hearted whom I have filled with the fpirit of wifdom, that they may make Aarons garments to confècrate hun, that he may minilter unto me in the priests office. 4 And these are the garments which they fhall make, a breat plate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle; and they hall make holy gar ments for Aaron thy brother and his ions, y he may minitter unto me in. § priefts office 5 And they fhall take gold, and blue, and purple and fearlet, and tine linnen.

6 And they hall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and of purple, oficarlet, and finertwined linnen, with cunning work,

7 It hall have the two fhoulder-pieces thereof, joined at the two edges thereof, and fo it fhali be joined together.

8 And the curious girdle of the ephod which is upon it, fhall be of the fame, according to the work thereof; even of gold, of blue, of purple, and fcarlet, and fine twined linnen.

9 And thon fhalt take two onyx ftones, and grave on them the names of the children of Ifrael.

10 Six of their names on one ftone, and the other x names of the reft on the other ftone according to their birth.

With the work of an engraver in ftone, Like the engravings of a figuet, fhalt thou engrave the two tones, with the names of the children of Ifrael; thou fhalt make them to be fet in ouches of gold.

12 And thou shalt put the two ftones upon the fhoulders of the ephod, for tones of memoria! unto the children of Ifrael. And Aaron fhall bear their names before the LORD, upon his two fhoulders, for a memorial.

134 And thou shalt make ouches of gold: 14 And two chains of pure gold at the ends of wreathen work halt thou make them, and falten the wreathen chains to the ouches.

15 And thou shalt make the breaftplate of judgment, with cunning work, after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it, of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of feariet, and of fine twined linnen Thalt thou make it.

16 Four-iquare it fhall be being doubled, a fpan all be the length thereof, and a fpan bail be the breadth thereof.

17 And thou shalt fet in it fettings of ftones, even lour rows of itones: the first row ball be a tardius, a topaz, and a carbandle: this fall be the first row.

18 And the fecontrowfall be an emerauld, a fapphire, and a diamond.

19 And the third row a ligure, an agate, and an amethyit.

20 And the fourth row, a beryl, and an onyx, and a jifper they thall be fet in guid in their inclouings.

21 And the tones fall be with the names

Urim and Thummim.

of the children of Ifrael, twelve. according to their names; like the engravings of a fignet, every one with his naine thall they be according to the twelve tribes.

22 q. And thou shalt make upon the breait-plate chains at the ends, of wreathen work, of pure gold.

23 And thou halt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and that put the two rings on two ends of the breaft-plate.

24 And thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings which are on the ends of the breaft- plate.

25 And the other two ends of the two wreathen chains, thou shalt fatten in the two ouches, and put them on the shoulderpieces of the ephod before it. 254 And thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou that put them upon the two ends of the breaft-plate, in the border thereof, which is in the lide of the ephod inward.

27 And two other rings of gold thou fhalt make, and thalt put them on the two fides of the ephod, underneath toward the fore-part thereof, over against the other coupling thereof, above the curious girdle of the ephod.

28 And they fhall bind the breaft-plate by. the rings thereof, unto rings of the ephod with a lace of blue,that it may be above the curious girdle of the ephod, and that the breast-plate be not loofed from the ephod.

29 And Aaron fhall bear the names of the children of Ifrael in the breath-plate of judgment, upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memo rial before the LORD continually.

30

And thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim, and they fhall be upon Aarons heart when he goeth in before the LORD: and Aaron thall bear the judgment of the children of Ifrael upon his heart, before the LORD continually.

31 And thou that make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

32 And there fhall be an hole in the top of it in the midit thereof; it fhall have a binding of woven work, round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of an habergeon that it be nor rent.

33 And beneath upon the hem of it thou halt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of fcarlet round about the hem thereof; and bells of gold between them round about.

34 A golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the hein of the robe round about.

35 And it fhall be upon Aaron,to minifter: and his found fhall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before the LORD, and when he cometh out: that he die not.

36 And thou shalt make a place of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a lignet, MOLINESS TO THE LORD.

37 And thou fha't put it on a blue lace, that it may be upon the mitre, upon the fore- front of the mitre it thall be.

38 And it thall be upon Aarons forehead, that

that Aaron may bear, the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Ifrael hall hallow in all their holy gifts, and it fhall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before the LORD.

39 And thou halt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou thalt make the mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle of needle-work.

404 And for Aarons fons thou fhalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and bonnets halt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.

41 And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his fons with him and fhalt anoint them and confecrate them, and fanctify them, that they may minifter unto me in the priefts office.

42 And thou fhalt make them linen breeches to cover their nakedness: from the loins even unto the thighs they fhall reach. 43 And they fhall be upon Aaron, and upon his fons, when they come in unto the tabernacle of the congregation, or when they come near unto the altar to minifter in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die. It shall be a ftatute for ever unto him, and his feed after him.

CHAP. XXIX.

The facrifices and ceremonies of confecrating the priests. 38 The continual burnt-offer:ing.

A

Nd this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minifter ento me in the priests office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish.

2 And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oyl, and wafers unleavened anointed with oyl: of wheaten flour fhalt thou make them.

3 And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams.

4And Aaron and his fons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and fhalt wash them with water 5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and robe of the ephod, and the ephod & the breaft plate, & gird him with curious girdle ofy ephod. 6 And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holycrown npon mitre. 7Then fhalt thou take the anointing oyl, & pour it upon his head, and anoint him." 8 And thou shalt bring his fons, and put

9 And thou shalt gird them with girdles (Aaron and his fons) and put the bonnets on them and the priests office fhail be theirs for a perpetual ftatute; and thou fhalt confecrate Aaron and his fons.

To And thou shalt caufe a bullock to be brought before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron and his fonsthall put their hands upon the head of the bulloek. 11 And thou fhalt kill the bullock before the LORD, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

And thou shalt take of the blood of the bullock, and put it upon the horns of

the altar with thy finger, and pour all the blood befide the bottom of the altar.

13 And thou shalt take all the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caultbat is above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and burn them upon the altar.

14 But the flesh of the bullock, and his skin, and his dung, fhalt thou burn with fire without the camp: it is a fin-effering..

15 Thou shalt alfo take one ram, and Aaron and his fons fhall put their hands upon the head of the ram.

16 And thou shalt flay the ram, and thou fhalt take his blood, and fprinkle it round about upon the altar.

17 And thou shalt cut y ram in pieces, & wash the inwards of him, and his legs, and put them unto his pieces, & unto his head.

18 And thou shalt burn the whole ram upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering unto the LORD it is a sweet favour, an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

19 And thou shalt take the other ram, and Aaron and his fons fhall put their han is upon the head of the ram.

20 Then fhalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his fons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and fprinkle the blood upon the altar rouud about.

21 And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oy!, and fprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his fons, and upon the garments of his fons with him and he fall be hallowed, and his garments, and his fons, and his fons garments with him.

22 Alfo thou fhalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; för it is a ram of confecration.

23 And one loafe of bread, and one cake of oyled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread, that is be fore the LORD.

24 And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his fons: and thalt wave them for a wave-offering before the LORD.

25 And thou shalt receive them of their hands, and burn them upon the altar for a burnt-offering, for a fweet favour before the LORD; it is an offering made by fire unto the LORD.

25 And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aarons confecrations, and wave it it fhall be thy part. for a wave offering before the LORD; and

27 And thou halt fanctify the breaft of the wave offering, and the thoulder of the heave-offering which is waved, and which is heaved up of the ram of the confecrati on, even of that which is for Aaron, and of that which is for his fons.

28 And it fhall be Aarons and his fons, by a ftatute for ever, from the children of
