FORM OF SOCIAL WORSHIP FOR THE

"It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High! To show forth thy loving-kindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night."-Ps. xcii.

WHEN you are all assembled in the school-room, my dear children, as soon as you have made your respectful obeisances to your elders, and teachers, and your affectionate salutations to each other, take your places silently, and stand listening with reverence, whilst the Principal shall repeat such of the following introductory sentences from the Scriptures as may appear fitted for the occasion; and then saying,

Let us praise God,

And, all devoutly kneeling, shall repeat aloud the Lord's Prayer, in which all present shall join ; after which shall be read the Collect for the day, which being got by heart on the Sabbath to which it

may belong, can be silently joined in by the young people the remainder of the week; then the second Collect for peace and safety, and the third for protection and grace; after which shall follow the Prayer for all Conditions of Men, the General Thanksgiving, and the Prayer of St. Chrysostom, concluding with the accustomed benediction. Then shall be read the Psalms in the order selected, and at the end of the portion appointed for the day, the service shall be concluded with a doxology and blessing, in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

"If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day, and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable, and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words; then shall thou delight thyself in the Lord, and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it."---Isaiah lvi. Iviii.

"Jesus said, Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
