Edgar Charles Sumner Gibsonæ(1848-1924) was the thirty-firstæBishop of Gloucester. He was born into a clerical familyæand educated atæCharterhouseæandæTrinity College, Oxford. Ordainedæin 1872, his first post was asæChaplainæatæWells Theological College, rising to Vice Principal in 1875. His next post was asæprincipalæofæLeeds Clergy Schoolæand he later becameæRural Dean ofæthe areaæand Vicar ofæLeeds Parish Church.
