Tract. Laudate Dominum, omnes Gentes: et collaudate eum, omnes populi.-Quoniam confirmata est super nos misericordia ejus: et veritas Domini manet in æternum.

because He is good: because His mercy endureth for ever.

Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles and praise Him, all ye people.-Because His mercy is established upon us: and the truth of the Lord endureth for ever.

At the Gospel, lights are not carried, but only incense. Munda cor, p. 7. Gospel, Matt. 28. dawn towards the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. In the Easter Preface, page 16, substitute' but in this night more especially for 'now more especially.'-In the Easter clause of the Communicantes,' page 20, substitute most sacred night' for 'day.' Add also the Easter clause in the Hanc igitur, page 21. The Agnus Dei, page 26, is not said, nor is the 'Peace' given; and there is no Post-Communion Verse. After the Communion, the following is sung in the Choir in lieu of

The Priest then chants the three first words of the following Anthem, which is continued by the Choir.

Vespere autem Sabbati: quæ lucescit in prima Sabbati, venit Maria Magdalene, et altera Maria, videre sepulchrum alleluia.

In the end of the Sabbath: which dawns in the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalen, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre: alleluia.

Then the Magnificat is sung, page 56, with the Gloria Patri at th end; and the Altar is incensed as is usual at Vespers.

After the Magnificat, the Anth. Vespere autem is repeated; and the Priest then says, Dominus vobiscum &c.

and of Thy goodness make them to be of one mind, whom Thou hast satisfied with the Paschal Sacraments. Through our Lord .. in the unity of the same Holy Ghost &c. R. Amen.

If Vespers are said out of the Choir: the Pater and Ave are first recited, and then the Anthem Alleluia &c. with the 114th Psalm and the rest as above; but Benedicamus Domino, alleluia, alleluia, is substituted for Ite Missa est. After which the Pater is again said, and nothing more.

COMPLIN

is said as shewn at page 57, but with the following alterations: Alleluia is substituted for Laus tibi Domine &c. after the Deus in adjutorium; no Anthem is said before or after the Psalms; and there is no Short Chapter, Responsory, or Hymn.

The first three words of the Anthem Vespere autem Sabbati are said before the Nunc dimittis, and the whole Anthem after it; then Dominus vobiscum &c., the Prayer Visita &c., page 63; Benedicamus Domino (without alleluia); and the Regina coeli, page 64.
