Besides the chain of Lunar Aspects, this Month affords conjunctions of Mars and Mercury in Aries, and of Saturn and Venus in Gemini-a sextile of Jupiter and Venus from Leo and Cancer-quartiles of the Sun and Georgium Sidus From Aries and Capricorn; and of Jupiter and Mars, also, of the Sun and Jupiter, both from Leo and Taurus.

Now the positions of the radix, and the aspects prevalent last month, strengthned as they are by the mutual enmities of the present, render it ominously isible that our Indian settlements are inflamed by a spirit of insubordinaion not to be easily quenched; and those who have great colonial interests t stake will, to all appearance, be severe sufferers. The sextile of Jupiter nd Venus intimates mediation by neutral powers between Greece and her arbarian adversary. Ireland, through whose ascendant Mars and Mercury re now posting, seems as if resenting some new aggression. A marriage, ikely to supply the gossips with a rich fund of prattle, is prefigured and an mbassy of an important nature seems in preparation. A duel is portended, hich, from the viruleat nature of the signs, and the decided hostility vinced, may he looked forward to as fatal.

The Month of May is distinguished by four important planetary conjunc tions, namely, one of Mars and Mercury-one of the Sun and Mercury-one of Mars and Venus-and the other of the Sun and Venus; all which happen under the sign Taurus. On the last day we also find the Moon, while applying to her ascending node, eclipsed in Sagittarius, and in opposition to the planet Saturn: with an unusual state of combustion in the firmament.

Russia and Sweden, or some other State in that quarter, show strife; and Poland, perhaps, is concerting leagues for throwing off the yoke of the despot. The north of England, and also Ireland, exhibit consternation, caused, as it seems, by popular ebullition; and it is to be feared that the military will be called to interfere. Loss of lives and property by fire, or some tremendous explosion, likely to be heard of about the end of this mouth. Some signs of a dark and dubious character, I take to relate to the bringing to light deep schemes of defraud connected with some public agents in a quarter to which it would be impolitic in me to allude thus prematurely. Be it what it may, a person of note in the political world is implicated. Bad news during this or the ensuing month reaches us from the Cape of Good Hope.

TIMELY WARNINGS AND WHOLESOME PRECEPTS.

The Summer Quarter begins upon the entrance of Sol into Cancer, on the 21st of June, at 48 minutes past 6 in the evening, when 12 degrees of Sagittarius ascend in the east, and 12 degrees of Libra are on the Meridian. Mercury, in his own house, is applying to a sextile with Jupiter, and to a conjunction with Saturn, from the cusp of the seventh. Jupiter, in the ninth house, in Leo, is applying, also, to a sextile of Saturn in the west angle, and sign Gemini; Saturn being in proximity with Mars in the same house and sign. Conjunctions also of Saturn and Mars, of the Sun and Saturn, and of Saturn and Mercury, all in Gemini; in which sanguine sign, the Sun, moreover, suffers an eclipse, while Mars, in combustion, passes the Dragon's Tail. Prime for the cap and gown-clad sparks at college,

'Twould be, if they, as air, could suck in knowledge.

Upon canvassing the signs of the Vernal Quarter, it was remarked, that all the planets, save Georgium Sidus, occupied occidental houses; and the like unusual coincidence of positions distinguishes the Estival scheme. The investigation of signs appertaining to other subjects, prevented, in our comments on the Spring months, any particular observations on the tendency of Jupiter's influence, while retrograding Leo, in the ninth house of the Vernal figure. He now occupies the same fixed sign and same mansion; his effects will therefore be included with the predictions for the ensuing month.
