O Lord God, that we, Thy servants, may enjoy perpetual health of mind and body; and, by the intercession of the blessed Mary ever Virgin, may be delivered from present sorrow, and obtain eternal joy.

O God, who by the merits of our blessed Father Francis dost increase Thy Church with a new progeny; grant us, by imitating him, to despise earthly things, and ever to rejoice in the participation of heavenly gifts. Through our Lord Jesus Christ.

V. And lead us not into temptation.

R. But deliver us from evil.

V. Confirm, O God, the work which Thou hast wrought in us.

we humbly beseech Thy mercy in behalf of the brothers, sisters, relatives, and benefactors of our congregation, who have passed from this world; that, through the intercession of blessed Mary ever Virgin, and all the Saints, Thou wouldst permit them to come to the full participation of everlasting happiness.

GENERAL ASSEMBLIES.

The Tertiaries being assembled in the Chapel, the Father Director, in surplice and stole, and kneeling at the foot of the altar, intones the Veni Creator, which the Tertiaries continue after the first line of the first verse. After that they recite the following Antiphons, and the Father Director says the versicles and prayers: Sub tuum præsidium confugimus, sancta Dei Genitrix nostras deprecationes ne despicias in necessitatibus nostris; sed a periculis cunctis libera nos semper, Virgo gloriosa et benedicta.

Respice, beate Pater Francisce, de excelso cœlorum habitaculo, et deprecare pro populo tuo, populo quem elegisti, ut serviat coram te, omni tempore, in ministerio sanctuarii Domini.

V. Emitte Spiritum tuum, et creabuntur.

R. Et renovabis faciem terræ.

V. Dignare me laudare te, Virgo sacrata.

R. Da contra hostes tuos.

V. Ora pro nobis, beate Pater Francisce.

We fly to thy patronage, O holy Mother of God: despise not our petitions in our necessities; but deliver us always from all dangers, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

Look down, O blessed Father Francis, from heaven, thy dwelling-place on high, and intercede for thy people whom thou hast chosen that theymay ever serve before thee in the ministry of the Lord's sanctuary.

V. Send forth Thy Spirit, and they shall be created.

R. And thou shalt renew the face of the earth.

V. Make me worthy to praise thee, O sacred Virgin.

R. Give me strength against thine enemies. V. Pray for us, O blessed Father Francis.

R. Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi.

V. Domine, exaudi orationem meam.

R. Et clamor meus ad te veniat.

V. Dominus vobiscum.
R. Et cum spiritu tuo.
