The tenth commandment is, Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife

ment? A. The fins forbidden in the tenth commandment are, difcontentment with our own eftate d; envying e and grieving at the

g Rom. vii 7. What shall we fay then? Is the law fin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known fin but by the law for I had not known luft, except the law had faid, Thou shalt not covet. v. 8. But fin taking occafion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupifcence. For without the law fin was dead. Rom xiii. 9. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou fhall not steal, Thou shalt not bear falfe witnefs, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this faying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Col. iii 5. Mortify therefore your members which are

upon the earth; fornication, uncleannefs, inordinate affection, evil concupifcence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Deut. v. 21. Neither fhalt thou defire thy neighbour's wife, neither fhalt thou covet thy neighbour's houfe, his field, or his man-fervant, or his maid- fervant, his ox, or his afs, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.

149. b Jam. iii. 2. For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the fame is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. John xv. 5. I am the vine, ye are the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the fame bringeth forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing. Rom viii. 3. For what the law, could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God fending his own Son in the likeness of finful flesh, and for fin condemned fin in the flesh.
