Part of the Liturgies of St. Mark, St. Chryfoftom and St. Bafil. ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν.—Ομοίως καὶ τὸ ποτήρχου με τὸ δειπνῆσαι λέγων πίεζε ἐξ αὐτὸ πάνες, τῦτό ἐσι τὸ Αἷμά με τὸ δ καινῆς διαθήκης, τὸ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν καὶ πολλῶν ἐκχεί μθμον εἰς ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν. — [add, τ το ποιᾶτε εἰς τὰ ἐμὰ ἀνάμνησιν.] Lit. I have omitted ἃ ὀφθαλμὸς ἐκ εἶδε, &c. which Eye hath not feen, &c. becaufe I take it to have been added by fuch as fuppofed the ἐπυράνια δωρήματα, the heavenly Gifts, οι πράγματα, Things, to refer to the heavenly Bleffings of the future State, whereas they seem to fignify here more immediatly the fpiritual and heavenly Food of the Body and Blood of Chrift; for the Eucharift (as S.
