S EEING Man was made to ferve his Creator, Religion, which is the Worship and Service of GOD, ought to be the great business of his Life, and to direct, guide, and sway all his Actions whatsoever, fo that nothing be done repugnant or dishonourable to it. But then Religion being not what every working Brain fhall devife, but what God doth require, we are bound to ferve him according to his known Will, not our fantastick Imaginations. otherwife we do not obey him, but impofe upon him; and are not his Servants, but what in us lies make him fubfervient to us, and at our command and difpofal ; which is fuch an Affront and Indignity to the Majefty of Heaven, as is not to be endured, and will not escape unpunished.
