Matt. xxi. 1. Mark xi. 1. Luke xix. 29. Joba xii. 12.

[L.JA ND it came to pafs [7] on the next Day, [Mr.] when they came nigh to Jerufalem, [M] and were come to Bethphage, [Mr.] and Bethany, [Ľ.] at the Mount called the Mount of Olives; [M] then Jefus [Mr.] fendeth forth two of his Difciples, and faith unto them, Go your way into the Village over against you, and as foon as ye be entred into it, [M] ye fhall find an Afs tied, and a Colt with her, [L.] whereon yet never Man fat; loofe him, and bring him hither: [M] and if any Man fay ought unto you, and [L.] ask you, Why do ye loofe him, thus fhall ye fay unto him, Because the Lord hath need of [M.] them, [Mr.] him; and straightway he will fend [M.] them, [Mr.] him hither. [M.] All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Prophet, faying, Tell ye the Daughter of Sion,

Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, MEEK, and fitting upon an Afs, and a Colt the Foal of an Afs. And the Difciples [L] went their Way, and found even as he had faid unto them, [Mr.] and found the Colt tied by the Door without in a Place where two Ways met: and they loofe him. [L.] And as they were loofing the Colt, [Mr.] certain of them that stood there, faid unto them, What do ye loofing the Colt? And [L.] the Owners thereof faid unto them, Why loofe ye the Colt? [Mr.] And they faid unto them even as Jefus had commanded, [L.] The Lord hath need of him: [Mr.] and they let them go. [L.] And they that were fent, [M.] did as Jefus commanded them, and brought the Afs and the Colt [Mr.] to Jefus, [M] and put on them their Clothes, and they fet him thereon. [7] And Fefus, when he had found a young Afs, fat thereon, as it is written, Fear not, Daughter of Sion, behold, thy King cometh fitting on an Afs's Colt. Thefe Things UNDERSTOOD NOT his Difciples at the first: But when Jefus was GLORIFIED, then remembred they that thefe Things were written of him, and that they had done thefe Things unto him. [L.] And as he went, [M.] a very great Multitude fpread their Garments in the Way, others cut down Branches from the Trees, and ftrawed them in the Way. And [7] much People that were come to the Feaft, when they heard that Jefus was coming to Ferufalem, took Branches of Palm Trees, and went forth to meet him. [L.] And when he was come nigh, even now at the Defcent of the Mount of Olives, the whole Multitude of the Difciples began to rejoice, and praife God with a loud Voice, for all the mighty Works that they had feen. [7] The PEOPLE therefore that was with him, when he called Lazarus out of his GRAVE, and RAISED him from the DEAD, bare record. For this Caufe the People alfo met him, for that they heard that he had done this MIRACLE. [M] And the Multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, faying, HOSANNA to the Son of David: [L.] BLESSED be the KING that cometh in the Name of the LORD; [7] the KING of Ifrael. [Mr BLESSED be the Kingdom of our Father David, that cometh in the Name of the LORD. [M.] HOSANNA in the HIGHEST, [L] PEACE in HEAVEN, and GLORY in the Higheft. And fome of the Pharifees from among the Multitude faid unto him, M m Mafter,

Mafter, rebuke thy Difciples: And he anfwered and faid unto them, I tell you, that if these fhould hold their Peace, the Stones would immediately cry out.

[L.] And when he was come near, he beheld the City, and WEPT over it, faying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy DAY, the Things which belong unto thy PEACE! But now they are HID from thine Eyes. For the Days fhall come upon thee, that thine Enemies fhall caft a Trench about thee, and compafs thee round, and keep thee in on every fide, and fhall lay thee even with the Ground, and thy Children within thee: and they fhall not leave in thee one Stone upon another, because thou knewest not the Time of thy Vifitation.

[Mr.] And Jefus entred into Jerufalem, [M] and when he was come into Jerufalem, all the City was moved, faying, Who is this? And the Multitude faid, This is fefus the PROPHET of Nazareth of Galilee. [7] The Pharifees therefore faid among themfelves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? Behold, the WORLD is gone after him. [M.] And Jefus went into the Temple of God, [Mr.] and when he had looked round about upon all Things, [L.] he began to caft out, [M.] and did caft out all them that fold [L.] therein, and them that bought, [M] and overthrew the Tables of the Money-Changers, and the Seats of them that fold Doves; and faid unto them, It is written, My Houfe fhall be called, and (L.] is [M.] the HOUSE of PRAYER, but ye have made it a DEN of THIEVES. And the Blind and the Lame came to him in the Temple, and he healed them. And when the Chief Pricfts and Scribes faw the wonderful Things that he did, and the CHILDREN crying in the Temple, and faying, HOSANNA to the Son of David; they were fore difpleafed, and faid unto him, Heareft thou what thefe fay? And Jefus faid unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the Mouths of Babes and Sucklings thou halt perfected Praife? [L.] And he taught daily in the Temple. But the Chief Priests, and the Scribes, and the Chief of the People fought to deftroy him. And could not find what they might do: for ALL the PEOPLE were very ATTENTIVE to hear him.

John AN ND there were certain Greeks among them, that came up to worship at the Feast. The fame came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethfaida of Galilee, and defired him, faying, Sir, We would fee Fefus. Philip cometh and telleth Andrew and again, Andrew and Philip told Jefus. And Jefus answered them, faying, The Hour is come that the Son of Man fhould be GLORIFIED. Verily, verily I fay unto you, Except a Corn of Wheat fall into the Ground, and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much Fruit. He that loveth his LIFE fhall lofe it: and he that hateth his LIFE in this World, fhall keep it unto Life Eternal. If any Man ferve me, let him follow me; and where 1 am, there fhall alfo my Servant be: If any Man ferve me, him will my Father honour. Now is my SOUL troubled, and what fhall I fay? Father, fave me from this Hour: but for this Caufe CAME I unto this Hour. (a) Father, GLORIFY thy Name. Then came there a Voice from Heaven, faying, I have both GLORIFIED it, and will GLORIFY it again. The People therefore that flood by and heard it, faid that it thundred: others faid, An Angel fpake to him. Jefus anfwered and faid, This Voice came not because of me, but for your fakes. Now is the Judgment of this World: Now fhall the PRINCE of this World be CAST OUT. And I, if I be LIFTED UP from the Earth, will draw all Men unto me. (This he faid, fignifying what Death he fhould die) The People answered

him, We have heard out of the LAW, that CHRIST abideth for ever: and how fayft thou, The Son of Man must be LIFT UP? Who is this Son of MAN? Then Jefus faid unto them, Yet a little while is the LIGHT with you; walk while ye have the LIGHT, left DARKNESS Come upon you: for he that walketh in Darkness, knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have LIGHT, BELIEVE in the LIGHT, that ye may be the Children of LIGHT. Thefe Things fpake Jefus: [Mr.] And now when Even-tide was come, [M] he left them, [7] and departed, and did hide himself from them, [M.] and went out of the City into Bethany, [Mr.] with the Twelve; [M.] and he lodged there. [7] But though he had done fo many MIRACLES before them, yet they BELIEVED not on him That the Saying of Efaias the Prophet might be fulfilled, which he fpake, Lord, who hath BELIEVED Our Report? and to whom hath the ARM of the LORD been revealed? Therefore they could not believe, becaufe that Efaias faid again, He hath blinded their Eyes, and hardned their Heart, that they fhould not fee with their Eyes, nor understand with their Heart, and be converted, and I fhould heal them. Thefe Things faid Efaias, when he saw his GLORY, and SPAKE of him. Nevertheless, among the Chief Rulers alfo, many BELIEVED on him; but becaufe of the Pharifees they did not CONFESS him, left they fhould be put out of the Synagogue. For they loved the PRAISE of Men, more than the PRAISE of GOD.

[M] Now in the Morning, [Mr.] and on the Morrow, [M.] as he returned into the City, [Mr.] when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry. [M] And when he faw a Fig Tree [Mr.] afar off, [M.] in the Way, [Mr.] having Leaves, he came [M.] to it, [Mr.] if haply he might find any thing thereon: And when he came to it, he found nothing [M.] thercon but Leaves only, [Mr.] for the Time of Figs was not yet. And Jefus answered, and faid unto it, [M] Let no Fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever, and [Mr.] no Man eat Fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his Difciples heard it. And prefently the Fig Tree withered away. [Mr.] And they come to ferufalem, and Jefus went into the Temple, and began to caft out them that fold and bought in the Temple, and overthrew the Tables of the Money-Changers, and the Seats of them that fold Doves: and would not fuffer
