Of the Marriage of the King's Son, and of the Wedding Garment.

3. And fent forth his Servants to call them that were bidden to the Wedding: and they would not come.

4. Again he fent forth other Servants, faying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my Dinner: my Oxen and my Fatlings are killed, and all Things are ready: come unto the Marriage.

5. But they made light it, and went their ways, to his Farm, another to Merchandife:

cut down they perish at the Rebuke of thy Countenance.

2. The Kingdom of Heaven is like unto a certain King which (a) made a Marriage for his Son,

10. So thofe Servants went out into the Highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the Wedding was furnished with Guefts.

11. And (b) when the King came in to fee the Guests, he faw there a Man which had not on a Wedding-Garment:

12. And he faith unto him, Friend, how cameft thou in hither, not having a Wedding Garment? And he was fpeechlefs.

13. Then faid the King to the Servants, Bind him Hand and Foot, and take him away, and caft him into outer Darknefs: there fhall be weeping and gnafhing of Teeth.

14. For many are called, but few are chofen.

Of the Ten Virgins.

Matt. THEN fhall the Kingdom of Heaven be liken XXV. I. ed unto ten VIRGINS, which took their Lamps, and went forth to meet the Bridegroom.

2. And five of them were wISE, and five were FOOLISH.

8. And the Foolish faid unto the Wife, Give us of your Oil, for our Lamps are gone out.

9. But the Wife anfwered, faying, Not fo; left there be not enough for us and you: But go ye rather to them that fell, and buy for your felves.

10. And while they went to buy, the Bridegroom came, and they that were ready, went in with him to the Marriage, and the Door was shut.

11. Afterward came alfo the other Virgins, faying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12. But he answered and faid, Verily I fay unto you, I know you not.

13. WATCH (a) therefore, and know neither the Day for ye aor the Hour wherein the Son of Man cometh.

3. Remember therefore how thou haft received and heard, and HOLD ¡¡÷❖❖ FAST, and REPENT. If therefore thou shalt not WATCH, I will come on thee as a Thief, and thou shalt not know what Hour I will come upon thee.

Of the Talents.

Ver. 14. FOR the Kingdom of Heaven is as a Man travelling into a far Country, who called his own Servants, and delivered unto them his Goods:

15. And unto one he gave five Talents, to another two, and to another one, to every Man according to his feveral Ability, and ftraightway took his Journey.

24. Then he which had received the one Talent, came and faid, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard Man, reaping where thou haft not fown, and gathering where thou baft not ftrawed:

25. And I was afraid, and went and hid thy Talent in the Earth: lo, there thou haft that is thine.
