Of the Children playing in the Market
Luke AND the Lord said, Whereunto Shah I liken the
Men of what are like?
32. They are like unto Children fitting in the Marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced : we have mourned unto you,
have not wept. 33. For fohn the Baptist came neither eating Bread, nor drinking Wine ; and ye say, He hath a Devil.
34. The Son of Man is come eating and drinking, and ye say, Behold, a gluttonous Man, and a Wine-bibber, a Friend of Publicans and Sinners.
35. But Wisdom is justified of all her Children.
Parable of the Fig-tree.
Luke HE fpake also this Parable: A certain Man had

a Fig-tree planted in his Vineyard, and he came and fought Fruit thereon, and found none.

8. But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the TRUTH, but obey UNRIGHTEOUSNESS ; Indignation and Wrath,
9. Tribulation and Anguish upon every Soul of Man that doth Evil.
10. But Glory, Honour, and Peace, to every Man that worketh Good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile.
11. For there is no respect of Persons with God.
Of the Feast, and of the great Supper.
ND he put forth a Parable to those which were
bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief Rooms; faying unto them,
8. When thou art bidden of any Man to a Wedding, fit not down in the highest Room, left a more honourable Man than thou be bidden of him
; 9. And he that bade thee and him, come and say to thee, Give this Man place; and thou begin with Shame to take the lowest Room.
10. But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest Room ; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher : Then shalt thou have Worship in the Presence of them that fit at Meat with thee.
11. For whosoever EXALTETA himself, shall be ABASED; and he that HUMBLETH himself, shall be EXALTED.
12. Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makeft a Dinner or a Supper, call not thy Friends
, nor thy Brethren, neither thy Kinsmen, nor thy rich Neighbours ; left they also bid thee again, and a Recompense be made thee.
13. But when thou makest a Fcast, call the Poor, the Maimed, the Lame, the Blind :
14. And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee : for thou shalt be recompensed at the Refurrection of the Juft.
15. And when one of them that fat at Meat with him, heard thefe Things, he said unto him, Bleffed is he that shall eat Bread in the Kingdom of God.

14. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty Famine in that Land, and he began to be in WANT.
