TON, printed at St. Andrews, 1551, together

This catechism, besides being a work exhibiting more
fully than any other the Scottish language in its
purest form, is one of the most important authori-
ties for the Ecclesiastical History of Scotland. As
a pre-Tridentine exposition of the Roman Catholic
Creed, set forth in the vernacular by a National
Ecclesiastical Authority of the highest kind, it is
perhaps unique.

The original, of which this is a facsimile reprint, s
so rare that Dr. Laing's copy sold for £148,
