O Lord, the prayers of thy fuppliants, and forgive the fins of those who confefs to thee; that, in thy bounty, thou mayft grant us both pardon and peace.

For behold, thou haft loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou haft made manifeft unto me.

Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyffop, and I fhall be cleansed: thou fhalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than fnow.

To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that were humbled shall rejoice.

Turn away thy face from my fins: and blot out all my iniquities.

Create in me a clean heart,

O God: and renew a right fpirit within my bowels.

Caft me not away from thy prefence and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Reftore unto me the joy of thy falvation: and ftrengthen me with a perfect fpirit.

I will teach the unjust thy ways: and the wicked fhall be converted unto thee.

Deliver me from blood, O God, thou God of my falvation: and my tongue fhall extol thy justice.

Thou fhalt open my lips, O Lord and my mouth shall declare thy praise.

For if thou hadst defired facrifice, I would furely have given it with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted.

A facrifice to God is an afflicted fpirit: a contrite and humble heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion: that the walls of Jerufalem may be built up.

Then fhalt thou accept the facrifice of juftice, oblations, and whole burnt-offerings : then shall they lay calves upon thine altars.
