(Editor) Terms of use In this collection of 28 articles, contributors examine three major areas of study of international relations: its intellectual history, philosophical and international issues; its analytical concerns about concepts and context; and its substantive processes, actions and relations. In the first, contributors examine the philosophy of social science and rational choice in international relations, offer a skeptical view of rationalism v. constructivism, and link theory to evidence in the discipline. Their analytical concerns include sovereignty, power, organizations and institutions, diplomacy, globalization, feminism, psychological explanations of international conflict, and the influence of domestic policy. Substantive issues include foreign policy, war and peace, security cooperation, nationalism and ethnicity, finance and trade, development, regional integration, the environment, human rights and law.
