AN accounting to finally settle the affairs of D. Pomeroy's Sons' insolvent woolen manufacturers of Pittsfield, Mass., is to be made June 15.

MR. Lazier, formerly of Belleville, Ont., Can., has commenced operations in Peterboro, Ont., making custom yarns and cloths.

E. H. Everett has left the Amoskeag cloth room, Manchester, N. H., and will go to Boston to learn trunk making.

No. I woolen mill, Blackstone, Mass., will shut down at noon every Saturday until further notice.

THE Lowell Mfg. Co. is clearing away debris from the burned building, and expect soon to resume work.

MR. John Tasey, a former employe of Sutton's mills, North Andover, Mass., is to be superintendent of Hannegan's felt factory.

A new road from Stafford Springs to Hartford, via Rockville, shortening the distance between Boston and Hartford by 15 miles, is proposed by the Hartford & Worcester R.R.

CHARLES Abrams, employed in Amoskeag cloth room, Manchester, N. H., had his chin severely cut by the falling of an elevator.

THE Blythe Woolen Mills, Peterboro, Ont., Can., are adding two sets to their mill. Mr. Mason, manager, has carried off first prize for an essay on "General Manufacturing," offered by an English textile journal.

"YES, said the farmer, as he looked ruefully over a cornfield that had been pillaged by crows, "its an illustration of caws and effect." A section of looms has been stopped in the Barnaby, Fall River, gingham mill through lack of orders for such fabrics.

FIRE at Mineral Springs Mfg. Co.'s mill, Stafford, Conn., did $50,000 damage, insurrance $20,000. 100 hands are out of work. The mill will be rebuilt at once.

A. L. Gibson has let his woolen mill at Wroxeter, Ont., Can., for a term of years to Thomas Bunston, late of Kennedy & Bunston, Walkerton.

STILLMAN E. Curtis, an employe of the woolen mill at Hillsborough Bridge, N. H., had his left hand mangled in a carding machine. Amputation just above the elbow was necessary.
