I WILL bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing. -Ps. 34:1-10.

Our Father God, we bless Thee for the leadership of Jesus, mighty in grace and power. To establish righteousness and to lead the children of earth to the sonship of God He came to our stricken world. For the sake of truth, and as its defender, He bore His Cross and went forth to die, and He is the Friend of all who suffer in the fellowship of chivalry. Give us fully of Thy spirit that our faith may not languish, nor our courage fail, as we endeavor to walk with Him toward the radiant ideals of sacrificial service. Give us a deep and quiet confidence; make clean our hearts; keep our hands from all dishonor; forgive our impatience; pardon our anxieties. Enable us to complete the tasks we have begun and at eventide may the peace of victory be our rich reward. For Christ's sake. Amen.

-CHARLES A. CAMPBELL, D. D.

BRETHREN, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. -GAL. 6:1-10.

Our God, we look to Thee for help this day. We shall be needing Thee every hour. In Thy strength may we go about our duties as Jesus did, with resolute courage, complete unselfishness, and unswerving trust. As children seek their mother's arms when wearied or conscience-smitten or grieved by others, so may we fly straight to Thee in any time of need. Enable us by Thy grace to bear each burden, trample each temptation underfoot, and comfort any who may be in trouble with the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted. Grant us, we pray Thee, such intimate and unbroken companionship with Thyself, that truth and cleanness and gentleness and hope shall abide in us until the twilight falls, and we lie down to sleep again beneath the shadow of Thy wings. Amen.

HOW

OW amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. * Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing. will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

We

-Ps. 84:1, 2, 4-12. Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we thank Thee for the return of this day and the opportunity it affords us again to assemble in Thy house of prayer. Give us grace, we humbly beseech Thee, to draw near to Thee in purity and sincerity of heart, and to offer unto Thee the sacrifices of prayer and praise with unfeigned selfdevotion; and may it please Thee to make Thyself known to us, and to satisfy us with Thy mercy. would pray for the speedy dawning of the day when Thy Kingdom shall come, and Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. We pray that Thy Church may do greater things for Thee: that Thou wilt stir up Thy people to greater activity and increased liberality. Help us to give ourselves to Thee for any service in which Thou canst use us, and to give cheerfully of our substance according as Thou hast prospered us. Bless Thy servants who preach and teach in heathen lands. Give to their labors success, and may multitudes be gathered into the fold of the Good Shepherd. Let their lives and health be precious in Thy sight, and may they be kept as in the hollow of Thy hand. We ask it all for Jesus' sake. Amen. -From "GUIDANCE IN PRAYER."

THESE things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. -JOHN 16:33.

AND one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What

are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. -REV. 7:13-17.

O Thou who art the hope of the sick and the dying and the joy and strength of those who are well and strong, we bow before Thee in reverence and with a spirit of worship in our hearts. We confess that while thousands starve and are hungry, we enjoy our plenty and do not drink of them as we should. From this worldly, materialistic contentment, O Lord, deliver us. Grant to give us to-day the world vision and the consciousness of the world need. Bless all missionaries who minister in Thy Name. Bless all of Thy servants who spend themselves in complete abandon that Thy Kingdom may come and that Thy will may be done on earth as it is in heaven. Invigorate our wills, we pray Thee, for ever larger service. Grant unto us new gifts of Thy grace this day and at its close may we be conscious of having acceptably served Thee, O Father, by having served others. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

EEK the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore. Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth. He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth. He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations. Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac; and confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant. -Ps. 105:4, 5, 7-10.

SO SHALL they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever. -ISA. 59:19-21.

Thou who hast kept us all the hours of our lives, send us good speed this day. Thou knowest all the way, and we come to Thee for help and guidance. There are duties that may rest hard upon us, but Thou art our Helper. Give us a deep desire to be faithful to the Master Workman who portions out our task. May Thy Holy Spirit be our Teacher. Forbid that we should shrink or shirk, or in any way evade our duty. Make us eager to help in this needy world. If trials await us, strengthen us, O our Father, for everything. Be Thou our Guide on every side. May our lightest labors be filled with the joy of the Lord. Make our home Thy abiding place. Give us to realize that we are children of God. Give us health and strength, if it please Thee, and a quiet mind at peace with God and man. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
