Let

IVE me, O Lord, an obedient spirit, and a teachable mind; let me be cheerful without lightness, sorrowful yet rejoicing, fearing Thee without doubting, and trusting Thee without presumption. me be joyful at nothing but that which pleaseth Thee, and sorrowful for nothing but that which doth displease Thee; let labour for Thee be my delight, and all rest be a weariness out of Thee. Give me a waking spirit, and a diligent soul, that I may seek to know Thy will, and when I know it may perform it faithfully, to the honour and glory of Thy ever-blessed Name.' Amen.

SUPPLICATIONES

PSALM Ixix. Salvum me fac.

AVE me, O God for the waters are come in, even unto my soul.

I stick fast in the deep mire, where no ground is I am come into deep waters, so that the floods run over me.

:

I am weary of crying; my throat is dry: my sight faileth me for waiting so long upon my God.

Hear me, O God, in the multitude of thy mercy: even in the truth of thy salvation.

Take me out of the mire, that I sink not: O let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.

Let not the water-flood drown me, neither let the deep swallow me up: and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.

Hear me, O Lord, for thy loving-kindness is comfortable: turn thee unto me according to the multitude of thy mercies.

And hide not thy face from thy servant for I am in trouble: O haste thee, and hear me.

As for me, when I am poor and in heaviness: thy help, O God, shall lift me up.

I will praise the Name of God with a song and magnify it with thanksgiving.

Like as the hart desireth the waterbrooks, so longeth my soul after thee, O God.

Remove from me, O Lord:
Hypocrisy and lying;

Indolence and fraud;

Envy and anger;

Covetousness and pride;
Vanity and irreverence;
Every evil thought;
Every base desire;

Every corrupt imagination.

Give to me, O Lord:

Humility and patience;
Sobriety and contentment;
Purity and self respect;
Affection and obedience;
Faith, Hope, and Charity;
A useful and happy life;

Good thoughts, and perseverance unto the end.

LORD Jesus, from whom all grace comes,

give me grace to feel my need of grace, and give me grace to seek for grace, then give me grace to receive grace; and when

grace is given me, give me grace to use grace.

Great art Thou, O Lord, and greatly to be praised, for Thou madest us for Thyself, and our heart is restless until it repose in Thee. St. Augustine.

O hold Thou up my goings in Thy paths: that my footsteps slip not.

Keep me as the apple of an eye: hide me under the shadow of Thy wings.

Hear me, O Lord, for Thy loving-kindness is comfortable: turn Thee unto me according to the multitude of Thy mercies. Thou art my helper and my redeemer: O Lord, make no long tarrying.

Cast me not away in the time of age: forsake me not when my strength faileth me. Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts: show the light of Thy countenance, and we shall be whole.

Open Thou mine eyes: that I may see the wondrous things of Thy law.

Unto Thee have I cried, O Lord: and early shall my prayer come before Thee.

Lord, teach us to pray.

Thou that hearest the prayer,

Unto Thee shall all flesh come.

CREATE a clean heart in me, O God.
