EJACULATORY PRAYERS.

LORD, here I am; do

I

with me as seems best in Thine eyes; give me, humbly beseech Thee, a penitent and patient spirit to await Thy will.

LORD, make my service

acceptable unto Thee whilst I live, and my soul ready for Thee when I die.

O Son of David, have mercy

upon me.

Christ hath conquered: Christ reigns: Christ rules: Christ keep me from all ill. O Jesu, be my Saviour now, and at the hour of my death. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, after Thy great goodness. Thy will be done. The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the Name of the Lord. Save me, O God, for Thy Name's sake.

Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am weak.

I renounce thee, O Satan: I cleave to Thee, O Christ. Glory be to God for all things. Amen.

Lord, I believe; help Thou mine unbelief. Lord, increase our Faith,

grant me, with a pure heart and in the spirit of humility, to offer Thee the praise of my sinful lips that I may be a partaker with the wise virgins, in brightness of soul. Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost art glorified, world

without end. Amen.

Prayer before Service.

OPEN my lips, O Lord, that I may bless Thy holy Name; cleanse my heart from all vain, perverse, and wandering thoughts: enlighten my understanding, and inflame my affections, that I may take part in this service worthily, attentively, and devoutly; and may be heard before the Presence of Thy Divine Majesty: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

BEHOLD, O Lord of Hea

ven and earth, a soul prostrate before Thee, desiring to be filled with such an awful sense of Thy Divine Majesty that no other thing may interpose itself whilst am in Thy Presence. Fix my inconstant thoughts in a stedfast attention to Thy most Holy Word. Inspire me with devout affections when I set

forth Thy praise and render thanks for all Thy benefits. And excite in me such fervent desires for all those things which I ask of Thee, that I may feel myself better disposed by these addresses to Thee, to every Christian duty the rest of this day through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

OR the multitude of Thy mercies I am come into

FOR Thy house, and in Thy fear will I worship toward Thy Attend unto holy temple.

my cry, O Lord, and give ear unto my prayer that goeth not out of feigned lips. Thou art my God, and I will praise Thee; Thou art my God, and I will exalt Thee; and I will delight myself in Thy commandments, which I have loved. My hands also will I lift up to Thy commandments which I have loved, and my study shall be in Thy statutes. Let Thy tender mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even Thy salvation, according to Thy word. Look upon me, and be merciful unto me, as Thou usest to do to those that love Thy Name. Order my steps in Thy Word, and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Amen.

LET

ET the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be always acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, my Strength and my Redeemer.

Hear us, O King of Heaven,

with Thy Word. O direct my goings in Thy paths, Who livest and reignest God, world without end. Amen.

After Service.

when we call upon Thee in MAY the Almighty and

the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Let Thy Holy Spirit teach us how to pray; give us just apprehensions of our wants, and just resentments of Thy mercies; that our prayers may be heard and our requests be granted, to Thy honour and the salvation of our souls. Amen.

merciful God grant me

joy, and peace, and amendment of my life: the spirit of true repentance, the grace and consolation of the Holy Ghost, perseverance in good works, a contrite and broken heart, and a happy ending to my life. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY GOD, Who

hast promised to hear the petitions of them that ask in Thy Son's Name, we beseech Thee mercifully to incline Thine ear to us that have now made our prayers and supplications unto Thee; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked according to Thy will, may be effectually obtained, to the relief of our necessities, and the setting forth of Thy glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

My soul hath a desire and longing to enter into the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh rejoice in the living God.

Yea, the sparrow hath found her an house, and the swallow a nest where she may lay her young: even Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.

Blessed are they that dwell in Thy house: they will be alway praising Thee.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee: in whose heart are Thy ways.

Who going through the vale of misery use it for a well : and the pools are filled with

water.

They will go from strength to strength and unto the God of gods appeareth every one of them in Sion.

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: hearken, O God of Jacob.

Behold, O God our De fender and look upon the face of Thine Anointed.

For one day in Thy courts is better than a thousand.

I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God: than to dwell in the tents of ungodliness.
