PSALMUS XCIV.

VENITE, exultémus Dómino, jubilémus Deo salutári nostro: præoccupémus fáciem ejus in confessióne, et in psalmis jubilémus ei.

Ave Maria, &c.

FSALM XCIV.

O come, let us sing unto the Lord, let us rejoice before God our Saviour: let us come into his presence with thanksgiving, and with psalms rejoice before him.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods: the Lord will not cast off his people; in his hands are all the ends of the earth, and he beholdeth the heights of the moun

tains.

The Lord is with thee.

The sea is his, and he made it, and his hands founded the dry land: come, let us adore and fall down before God; let us lament before the Lord who made us; for he is the Lord our God we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Hail Mary, &c.

Dóminus tecum. Quadraginta annis próximus fui generatióni huic, et dixi: Semper hi errant corde: Ipsi vero non cognovérunt vias meas, quibus jurávi in ira mea, si introíbunt in réquiem meam.

To-day if ye shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness; where your fathers tempted me, proved, and saw my works.

The Lord is with thee.

Forty years long was I nigh unto this generation, and said: They do always err in their heart: for they have not known my ways: unto whom I sware in my wrath, that they should not enter into my rest.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

The three following Psalms are
said on Sunday, Monday, and
Thursday, at the Nocturn.
Ant. Blessed art thou.

PSALM VIII.

1 O Lord, our Lord: how wonderful is thy name in all the earth!

2 For thy greatness is exalted: above the heavens.

3 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou perfected praise, because of thine enemies: that thou mayest destroy the enemy and the avenger.

4 For I will behold thy heavens, the works of thy fingers : the moon and the stars, which thou hast founded.

5 What is man, that thou art mindful of him: or the son of man, that thou visitest him?

6 Thou hast made him a little lower than the Angels, thou hast crowned him with glory and honour and hast set him over the works of thy hands.

7 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet all sheep and oxen, yea and the beasts of the field.

8 The birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea that walk through the paths of the sea.

9 O Lord, our Lord: how wonderful is thy name in all the earth!

Glory, &c.
