1 COR. xii. 12, 13: As the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body. EPH. iv. 4, 16: There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling. From whom [Christ] the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 1 COR. vi. 15: Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? do. x. 17: We being many are one bread, and one body. do. xi. 3: The head of every man is Christ do. xii. 20, 27: But now are they many members, yet but one body. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Christ is the head of the Church. We are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. CoL. i. 18, 24: He is the head of the body, the Church.-Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh, for his body's sake, which is the Church.
