"Love is strong as death."
Cant. viii. 6.

UR souls, by love together knit,
Cemented, mixt in one,

D.C.M.

One hope, one heart, one mind, one voice, "Tis heav'n on earth begun :

Our hearts have burn'd while Jesus spake, And glow'd with sacred fire;

He stopp'd, and talk'd, and fed, and blest,
And fill'd the enlarg'd desire.

Chorus. A SAVIOUR, let creation sing;
A SAVIOUR, let all heaven ring;
He's GOD with us, we feel Him ours ;
His fulness in our souls He pours;
"Tis almost done; 'tis almost o'er;
We're joining them who're gone before,
We soon shall reach the blissful shore,
We then shall meet to part no more.

2 We're soldiers fighting for our GOD,
Let trembling cowards fly;

We'll stand unshaken, firm and fix'd,
With CHRIST to live and die!
Though devils rage, and hell assail,
We'll cut our passage through;
Though foes unite, or friends desert,
We'll seize the crown, our due.

A Saviour, &c.

3 The little cloud increases still,
The heav'ns are big with rain,
We haste to catch the teeming shower,
And all its moisture drain ;

;

A rill, a stream, a torrent flows,
But pour the mighty flood;
O sweep the nations! shake the earth,
Till all proclaim Thee GOD.

A Saviour, &c.

4 And when Thou mak'st Thy jewels up,
And sett'st Thy starry crown:
When all Thy sparkling gems shall shine,
Proclaim'd by Thee Thine own;
May we-a little band of love,
So freely saved by grace-
From glory unto glory chang'd,
Behold Thee face to face.

A Saviour, &c.

263 "They that feared the Lord spake often

one to another."-Mal. iii. 16.

GLORY be to GOD above,

GOD from whom all blessings flow;

Make we mention of His love,

Publish we His praise below.

2 Call'd together by His grace,
We are met in JESUS' name;
See with joy each other's face;
Followers of the risen LAMB.
S Let us then sweet counsel take,
How to make our calling sure;
Our election how to make,
Past the reach of hell secure.

4 Build we each the other

up;

Pray we for our faith's increase,

Solid comfort, settled hope,

Constant joy, and lasting peace.

7'8.

5 More and more let love abound:
Such as mov'd in JESUS' breast,
Till we are in glory found,
Of our paradise possest.

6 He removes the flaming sword,
Calls us back, from Eden driven;
To His image here restor❜d,
Soon He takes us up to heav'n.

7's & 6's.

TWO

"Two are better than one."

Eccles. iv. 9.

are better far than one,
For counsel or for fight:

How can one be warm alone,
Or serve His GOD aright?

Join we then our hearts and hands;
Each to love provoke his friend :
Run the way of His commands,
And keep it to the end.

2 Woe to him whose spirits droop,
To him who falls alone!
He has none to lift him up,
And so he can't get on:
Happier we each other keep;
We each other's burdens bear,
Never need our footsteps slip,
Upheld by mutual prayer.

3 Who of twain hath made us one,
Maintains our unity;

JESUS is the Corner-Stone,
In whom we all agree;

Servants of one common LORD,
Sweetly of one heart and mind,
Who can break a three-fold cord,

Or part whom God hath join'd?
4 O that all with us might prove
The fellowship of saints!
Find supplied, in JESUS' love,
What ev'ry member wants:
Grasp we our high calling's prize,
Feel our sins on earth forgiv'n,
Rise, in His whole image rise,
And meet our Head in Heav'n!

How

"Love as brethren."
1 Pet. iii. 1.

113. M.

OW good and pleasant 'tis to see,
When brethren cordially agree,
And kindly think and speak the same:
A family of faith and love,

Combined to seek the things above,

And spread the common SAVIOUR's fame.

2 The God of grace, who all invites,
Who in our unity delights,

Vouchsafes our intercourse to bless;
Revives us. with refreshing show'rs,
The fulness of His blessing pours,
And keeps our minds in perfect peace.
3 JESUS, Thou precious Corner-Stone,
Preserve inseparably one,

Whom Thou didst by Thy SPIRIT join:
Still let us in Thy SPIRIT live,

And to Thy Church the pattern give
Of unity and love divine!

4 Still let us to each other cleave,
And from Thy plenitude receive
Constant supplies of hallowing grace;
Till to a perfect man we rise,
O'ertake our kindred in the skies,
And find prepar'd our heavenly place.

"By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples."-John xiii, 35. 4-6'8 & 2-8's

BEHOLD, how good a thing

It is to dwell in peace ;
How pleasing to our KING,
This fruit of righteousness;
When brethren all in one agree,
Who knows the joys of unity!
2 When all are sweetly join'd,
(True followers of the LAMB,)
The same in heart and mind,
And think and speak the same;
And all in love together dwell;
The comfort is unspeakable.
3 Where unity takes place,

The joys of heav'n we prove;
This is the Gospel grace,

The unction from above,
The SPIRIT on all believers shed,
Descending swift from CHRIST Our Head.

4 Where unity is found,

The sweet anointing grace
Extends to all around,

And consecrates the place;
To every waiting soul it comes,
And fills it with divine perfumes.
