2 How happy the man whose heart is set free, The people that can be joyful in Thee! Their joy is to walk in the light of Thy face; And still they are talking of JESUS's grace. 3 Their daily delight shall be in Thy name; They shall as their right Thy righteousness [Thy blood, Thy righteousness wearing, and cleans'd by Bold shall they appear in the presence of GOD. 4 For JESUS my LORD is now my defence; I trust in His word, none plucks me from thence: [will do ; Since I have found favour, He all things My KING and my SAVIOUR shall bring me safe through.

5 Yes, Lord, I shall see the bliss of Thine own, Thy secret to me shall still be made known; For sorrow and sadness I joy do receive, And share in the gladness of all that believe.

161 "While I live will I praise the Lord."

HAPPY

Ps. cxlvi. 2.

113. M.

APPY the man whose hopes rely On Israel's GOD: He made the sky, And earth, and seas, with all their train; His truth for ever stands secure;

He saves th' oppress'd, He feeds the poor, And none shall find His promise vain. 2 The LORD pours eyesight on the blind! The LORD supports the fainting mind: He sends the labouring conscience peace; He helps the stranger in distress, The widow and the fatherless,

And grants the prisoner sweet release.

3 I'll praise Him while He lends me breath: And when my voice is lost in death,

Praise shall employ my nobler powers; My days of praise shall ne'er be past, While life and thought and being last, Or immortality endures.

choice

HAPPY day that fixed
On Thee, my SAVIOUR and my GOD!
Well may this glowing heart rejoice,
And tell its raptures all abroad.

2 O happy bond, that seals my vows
To Him who merits all my love!
Let cheerful anthems fill His house,
While to that sacred shrine I move.

3 'Tis done, the great transaction's done, I am my LORD's, and He is mine; He drew me, and I follow'd on,

Charm'd to confess the voice divine.

4 Now rest my long-divided heart;
Fix'd on this blissful centre, rest:
Nor ever from thy LORD depart,
With Him of ev'ry good possest.

5 High Heav'n, that heard the solemn VOW, That vow renew'd shall daily hear,

Till in life's latest hour I bow,

And bless in death a bond so dear.

163 "Truly our fellowship is with the Father."

1 John i. 3.

(HAPPY soul that lives on high,

While men lie grov'lling here!
His hopes are fix'd above the sky,
And faith forbids his fear.

2 His conscience knows no secret stings,
While peace and joy combine
To form a life whose holy springs
Are hidden and divine.

3 He waits in secret on his GOD:
His GOD in secret sees;
Let earth be all in arms abroad,
He dwells in heav'nly peace.

4 His pleasures rise from things unseen,
Beyond this world and time;
Where neither eyes nor ears have been,
Nor thoughts of sinners climb.

5 He wants no pomp nor royal throne,
To raise his figure here:

Content, and pleas'd to live unknown,
Till CHRIST, his life, appear.

6 He looks to heaven's eternal hill,
To meet that glor'ous day;

But patient waits his SAVIOUR's will
To call his soul away.

their strength."-Isa. xl. 31.

HAPPY they that know the LORD,
With whom He deigns to dwell!

He feeds and cheers them by His word,
His arm supports them well!

2 To them in each distressing hour,
His throne of grace is near;

And when they plead His love and power,
He stands engag'd to hear.

3 His presence sweetens all our cares,
And makes our burdens light;
A word from Him dispels our fears,
And gilds the gloom of night.

4 Let us enjoy and highly prize
These tokens of Thy love;
Till Thou shalt bid our spirits rise,
To worship Thee above.

165 "He that overcometh shall inherit all things."

Rev. xxi. 7.

10's & 11's.

REJOICE evermore, with angels above,

In JESUS's power, in JESUS's love: With glad exultation your triumph proclaim, Ascribing salvation to GoD and the LAMB.

2 Thou, LORD, our refuge in trouble hast been; Hast sav'd us from death, hast sav'd us from

sin;

[free, The pow'r of Thy SPIRIT hath set our hearts And now we inherit all fulness in Thee.

3 All fulness of peace, all fulness of joy,
And spiritual bliss that never shall cloy;
To us it is given in JESUS to know
A kingdom of heaven, a heaven below.

4 No longer we join, while sinners invite;
Nor envy the swine their brutish delight;
Their joy is all sadness, their mirth is all

vain,

[pain. Their laughter is madness, their pleasure is

5 0 might they at last with sorrow return,
The pleasures to taste for which they were
born;

Our JESUS receiving, our happiness prove,
The joy of believing, the heaven of love!

vast the treasures we possess ! How rich Thy bounty, KING of grace! This world is ours, and worlds to come: Earth is our lodge, and heav'n our home.

2 All things are ours; the gifts of GOD;
The purchase of a SAVIOUR's blood;
While the good SPIRIT shows us how
To use, and to improve them too.

3 If

peace and plenty crown my days, They help me, LORD, to speak Thy praise; If bread and sorrows be my food, Those sorrows work my lasting good.

4 I would not change my blest estate
For all the world calls good or great;
And while my faith can keep her hold,
I envy not the sinner's gold.

5 FATHER, I wait Thy daily will;
Thou shalt divide my portion still;
Grant me on earth what seems Thee best,
Till death and heav'n reveal the rest.
