13 Whence g should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto nie, saying, Give us flesh, that we may

14 I i am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me. 15 And if thou deal thus with me, k kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

ND Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the 3 Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he h had married 4 an Ethiopian woman.

2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken k also by us? And the LORD heard 1 it.

3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

4 And n the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the taber nacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

5 And the LORD came down pin the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

6 And he said, Hear now my words: It there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, s and will speak unto him in at dream.

7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. v

8With himwill I speak mouth w tomouth, even apparently,and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not yafraid to speak against myservant Moses? 9 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them; and he departed. 10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, a white as snow: and Aaron looked on Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, 1 beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, c and wherein we have sinned.

12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

13 And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying,Heal e her now,O God, I beseech thee. 14 And the Lord said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out g from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again. 15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days; and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again

29 The Amalekites c dwell in the land of the south; and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

30 And Caleb d stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; for we are well e able to overcome it.

31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. 32 And g they brought up an evil re port of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of 1 a great stature.h 33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, i which come of the giants; and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, k and so we were in their sight. AND all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night.

2 And all the children of Israel murmured m against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation saia unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness!

3 And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt?

4 And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return q into Egypt.

5 Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces & before all the assembly of the congregation of the children of Israel.

6 And Joshua u the son of Nun,and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their clothes: 7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.

8 If the LORD delight y in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with bmilk&honey. 9 Only rebel c not ye against the LORD, neither fear d ye the people of the land; for they are bread e for us: their 4 defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: f fear g them not.

10 But all the congregation bade stone them h with stones. And i the glory of the LORD appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel.

11 And the LORD said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke k me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the signs which I have shewed among them?

26 And they went and came to Moses,and to Aaron,and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; in & brought back word m c.20.1,16. unto them, and unto all the congregation, n Ex.32.10. and shewed them the fruit of the land. o De.9.26-28.and disinherit them.& will make of n thee

Death of the evil Spies. 34 After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty b days, each day for a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years; and ye shall know my 1 breach e of promise:

35 Ig the LORD have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil h congregation, that are gathered together against me; in this wilderness they shall be consum ed, and there they shall die.

36 And the men i which Moses sent to search the land, who returned, & made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up a slander upon the land, 37 Even those men, that did bring up the evil report upon the land, died 7 by the plague before the LORD.

38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, which were of the men that went to search the land, lived p still.

39 And Moses told these sayings unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned r greatly.

40 And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up into the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we be here, and will go up unto the place which the LORD hath promised: for we have sinned.

41 And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment u of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.

42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

43 For the Amalekites and the Cana anites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because wye are turned away from the LORD, therefore the LORD will not be with you.

44 But they presumed to go up unto the hill-top: nevertheless the ark zof the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, depart ed not out of the camp.

45 Then the Amalekites came down. and the Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited them, even unto Hormah. a CHAP. XV.

ND the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israei, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land of your habitations, which I give unto you,

3 And d will make an offering by fire unto the LORD, a burnt-offering, or a sacrifice in 4 performing a vow, e or in a free-will-offering, or in your solemu feasts, f to make a sweet savour g unto the LORD, of the herd, or of the flock; 4 Then shall he that offereth his offering unto the LORD bring a meat-offering of a tenth deal of flour mingled with the fourth part of an hin of oil. k

5 And the fourth part of an hin of wine for a drink-offering shalt thou prepare, with the burnt-offering or sacrifice, for one lamb.

6 Or for a ram, thou shalt prepare for a meat-offering two tenth deals of flour mingled with the third part of an hin of oil. 7 And for a drink-offering thou shalt offer the third part of an hin of wine, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

8 And when thou preparest a bullock for a burnt-offering, or for a sacrifice in performing a vow, or o peace-offerings unto the LORD;
