And on the other hand, if the Miracles wrought by the Sorcerers, were only Cheats and meer Illufions of the Senfes, how fhall we do to diftinguish betwixt true Miracles,, and appearing ones only, fince the Senfes, by which alone we can judge, may be fo cafily impos'd upon, as to take Appearances for true and real Miracles? Either of thefe Suppofitions, carry

I maintain then, in the first place, that the Devil himself cannot work a true Miracle independently on God, or by his own innate Power; and this, for Reafons be fore laid down, page 10.
