DISTRICT OF MASSACHUSETTS, TO WIT: District Clerk's Office. BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the twenty-second day of May, A.D. 182, and in the thirty-sixth year of the independence of the United States of America, BRADFORD & READ, of the said District, have deposited in this Office the title of a book, the right whereof they claim as Proprietors in the words following, viz.
"Bible News: or Sacred Truths relating to the Living God, his Only Son, and Holy Spirit, illustrated and defended in a continued series of Letters and Inquiries. "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost." St. Peter."
In conformity to the Act of the Congress of the United States, intitled, "An Act for the Encouragement of Learning, by securing the Copies of Maps, Charts and Books, to the Authors and Proprietors of such Copies, during the times therein mentioned;" and also to an Act intitled, "An Act supplementary to an Act intitled an Act for the Encouragement of Learning, by securing the Copies of Maps, Charts and Books, to the Authors and Proprietors of such Copies during the times therein mentioned; and extending the Benefits thereof to the Arts of Designing, Engraving and Etching Historical and other Prints."
WM. S. SHAW, Clerk of the District of Massachusetts.
THE letters contained in the following pages are, generally, those which were formerly published under. the title of "Bible News ;" and "addressed to a worthy Minister of the gospel." Some things, however, have been omitted to give place to others which have been deemed of more importance. But whether this may be properly called an Improved Edition, the public will determine.
On condition that it shall be consistent with the will of God, under the general title now assun sumed, the public may expect some farther communications. A series of Inquiries have, for a long time, occupied my attention; and some things are nearly ready for the press; which, it is hoped, will give additional light respecting the character of the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit; and also additional evidence that the doctrine of a "Three one God" has no foundation in the Bible; and that it is really reproachful both to the Holy ONE of Israel and to his ONLY SON.
