14 Behold, my fervants fhall fing for joy of heart, but ye fhall cry for forrow of heart, and fhall howl for vexation of fpirit.

15 And ye shall leave your name for a curfe unto my chofen for the Lord God fhall flay thee, and call his fervants by another name :

16 That he who bleffeth himself in the earth, fhall blefs himself in the God of truth, and he that sweareth in the earth, fhall fwear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

17 For behold, I create new heavens, and a new earth and the former fhall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

18 But be ye glad, and rejoice for ever in that which I create for behold, I create Jerufalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child fhall die an hundred years old, but the finner, being an hundred years old, shall be accurfed.

21 And they fhall build houses, and inhabit them ; and they fhall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of thern.

22 They fhall not build, and another inhabit; they fhall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree, are the days of my people, and mine elect hall long enjoy the work of their hands.

23 They fhall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble for they are the feed of the bleffed of the Lord, and their offspring with them.

24 And it fhall come to pafs, that before they call, I will anfwer, and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

HUS faith the Lord, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footftool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my reft?

2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, faith the Lord but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite fpirit, and trembleth at my word.

3 He that killeth an ox, is as if he flew a man: he that facrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog's neck: he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered fwine's blood: he that burneth incenfe, as if he bleffed an idol: yea, they have chofen their own ways, and their foul delighteth in their abominations.

4 I alfo will choose their delufions, and will bring their fears upon them; becaufe when I called, none did answer: when I fpake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I'delighted not.

5 Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word. Your brethren that

8 Who hath heard fuch a thing who hath feen fuch things? fhall the earth be made to bring forth in one day, or shall a nation be born at once? for as foon as Zion travailed, fhe brought forth her children.

12 For thus faith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing ftream: then fhall ye fuck, ye fhall be borne upon her fides, and be dandled upon her knees.

13 As one whom his mother comforteth, fo will I comfort you and ye fhall be comforted in Jerufalem.

14 And when ye fee this, your heart fhall rejoice, and your bones fhall flourish like an herb and the hand of the Lord fhall be known toward his fervants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

15 For behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

16 For by fire, and by his fword, will the Lord plead with all flesh, and the flain of the Lord shall be many. 17 They that fanctify themselves, and purify themfelves in the gardens, behind one tree in the midft, eating fwine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, fhall be confumed together, faith the Lord.

18 For I know their works and their thoughts: it fhall

19 And I will fet a fign among them, and I will fend thofe that escape of them, unto the nations, to Tarfhish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal, and Javan, to the ifles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they fhall declare my glory among the Gentiles.

20 And they fhall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord, out of all nations, upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon fwift beafts, to my holy mountain Jerufalem, faith the Lord, as the children of Ifrael bring an offering in a clean veffel into the house of the Lord.

21 And I will also take. of them for priests, and for Levites, faith the Lord.

22 For as the new heavens, and the new earth which I will make, fhall remain before me, faith the Lord, fo fhall your feed and your name remain.

CHAP. III. Ebuchadnezzartheking made an image of gold, whofe height was threefcore cubits, and the breadth thereof fix cubits: he fet it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

3 Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the fheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had fet up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had fet up.

4 Then an herald cried

aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,

5. That at what time ye hear the found of the cornet, flute, harp, fackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of mufick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath fet up.

6 And whofo falleth not down and worshippeth, shall the fame hour be cast into the midft of a burning fiery furnace.

7 Therefore at that time when all the people heard. the found of the cornet, flute, harp, fackbut, pfaltery, and all kinds of mufick, all the people, the nations, and the languages fell down and worfhipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had fet up.

8 Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near and accufed the Jews.

9 They fpake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.

10 Thou,

10 Thou, O king, haft mufick, ye fall down and made a decree, that every worship the image which I man that shall hear the found have made, well: but if ye of the cornet, flute, harp, worship not, ye fhall be caft fackbut, pfaltery, and dulci- the fame hour into the midft mer, and all kinds of mufick, of a burning fiery furnace; fhall fall down and worship and who is that God that the golden image: fhall deliver you out of my
