ND the whole earth was of one 13 language, and of one 14 speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from 15 the east, that they found a plain in Ithe and of Shinar; and they dwelt there. The confusion of Tongues 3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and 2 burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar. 4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city, and a towerd whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered ƒ abroad upon the face of the whole earth. 5 And the LORD came down g to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. Abram. CHAP. XVII. Circumcision is instituted. GENESIS, XVIII. 2 And I will make my d covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be e a father of many 2 nations. a c.1814.
