17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

28 And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years.

4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city, and a towerd whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered ƒ abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

2 That these made war with Fera king of Sodom, and with Birsha king of Go morrah, Shinab king of Admah, d and Shemeber king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela, which is e Zoar.

3 All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, f which is the saltsea. 4 Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer,& in the thirteenth year they rebelled. 5 And in the fourteenth year came Che dorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote i the Rephaims A in Ashteroth-karnaim, and I the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in 1 Shaveh-Kiriathaim; 6 And the Horites in their mott Seir, unto 2 El-paran, m which is by the wil derness.

7 And they returned, and came to EnKi-mishpat, which is Kadesh, & smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites, that dweltp in Hazezon-tamar. 8 And there went out the king ofSodom, & the king of Gomorrah,& the king of Ad mah, & the king of Zebolim, & the king of Bela, (the same is Zoar ;) and they joined battle with them in the vale of Siddim,

11 And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way.

12 And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, (who dwelt y in Sodom,) and his goods, and departed.

13 And there caine one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew; a for he dwelt in the plain of Mamre the Amorite, brother of Eshcol, and brother of Aner and these were confederate with Abram. 14 And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he 4 armed his 5 trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them e unto Dan.

15 And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and ƒ smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.

16 And he brought back all the goods, & also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also,and the people. 17 And the king of Sodom i went out to meet him, (after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him,) at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king's I dale.

18 And m Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine, and he was the n priest of the most o high God.

19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed Le Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth;

2 And Abram said, Lord Gon, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go p childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house q is mine heir.

4 And, behold, the word of the Loan came unto hira, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth ut of thine r own bowels shall be thine heir.

CHAP. XVI.

TOW Sarai, Abram's wife,bare him no children and she had an handmaid, an e Egyptian, whose name was f Hagar. 2 And Sarai said unto Abram. Behold now, the LouDg hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, h go in unto my maid; it may be that I may 2 obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Surai.

3 And Sara, Abram's wife, took Hagar her mail, the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husi and Abram to be his wife.

4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was 12 despiced in her eyes.

3 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong te upon thee: I have given my maid into hy boom; and when she saw that she had conceive, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge o between me and ther.

9 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Return to thy mistress, and a submit thyself under her hands.

10 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shall call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.

12 And he will be a wild ħ man; his hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him: and he shalf dwell in the presence of all his brethren.

13 And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that steth me?

14 Wherefore the well was called Beer lahai-roi: behold, it is between Kadesh and Bered.

15 And Hagat bare Abram a son; and Abrain called his son's name, which Hazir bare, Ishmael.

16 And Abram was fourscore and r years old, when Hagar bare Ishmae! Abram.

23 And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the self-same day, as God had said unto him.

24 And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

26 In the self-same day was Abraham circume sed and Ishmael his son;

AND the LORD appeared unto him in the k plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent-door in the heat of the day:

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, 7 three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent-door, and bowed himself toward the ground,"

3 And said, My lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, o pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: 4 Let a little p water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree :

5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and 5 comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore 7 are you come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it and make cakes upon the hearth.

11 Now Abraham and Sarah were z old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah a after the manner of

12 Therefore Sarah b laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed c old shall I have pleasure, my d lord being old also?

13 And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?

14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? e At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, g and Sarah shall have a son.

15 Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed
