ANASSEH I was twelve years old

Mwhen he began to reign: and he

reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem: 2 But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto them abomi nations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel. 3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father p had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, q and worshipped r all the host of heaven, and served them.

Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

And w he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also x he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger. 7 And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David, and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.

So Manasseh made Judah & the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

And the LORD spake to Manasseb, and to his people: but they would not hearken. 11 Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host 9 of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, h and bound i him with 2 fet ters, and carried him to Babylon.

S Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, & Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the LORD his God. 9 And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered h the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered of the hand of Manasseh and Ephraim, and of all the remnant of Israel, and of all Judah and Benjamin, and they returned to Jerusalem.

Zedekiah f was one and twenty years jold when he began to reign; and reigned jeleven years in Jerusalem.

And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD his God, and humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet, speaking from the mouth of the LORD. 13 And he also rebelled g against king Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God: but he stiffened h his neck, and hardened his heart from turning unto the LORD God of Israel.

Moreover, all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much, after all the abominations of the heathen, and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

And i the LORD God of their fathers sent to them 8 by his messengers, rising up 1 betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place.

But they mocked k the messengers of God, and despised I his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, til there was no 3 remedy.

Therefore o he brought upon them the king of the Chaldees, who slew their young men with the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or maiden old man, or him that stooped for age; he gave them all into his hand.

And all the vessels of the house of God, great and small, and the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king and of his princes, all these he brought to Babylon.

And r they burnt the house of God, & brake down the wall of Jerusalem, and burnt all the palaces thereof with fire, & destroyed all the goodly vessels thereof. 20 And them that had escaped from the sword carried he away to Babylon, where they were servants to him and his sons, until the reign of the kingdom of Persia: 21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, s until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: t for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

Now,u in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, (that the word of the LORDSpoken by the mouthof Jeremiah might be accom. plished,) the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus v king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, A the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD or, chains. God of heaven given me, and he hat foretold, charged me to build him an house in Hab.1.6,&c. rusalem, which is in Judah. Who is the among you of all his people? the Lo This God be with him and let him go up
