IV. And whereas by an act made in this present session of parlia

ment, it was enacted, That an act made in the thirtieth year of his pre

Sent Majefty's reign, intituled, An act to prohibit, for a limited A&t 30 Geo. 2. time, the making of low wines and fpirits from wheat, barley, malt, or any other fort of grain, or from any meal or flour which by feveral fubfequent acts, was continued until the twenty fourth day of December, one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine; and alfo fo much of an act made in the last feffion of parliament, intituled, An act to continue, for a further time, the prohibition of the exportation of corn, malt, meal, flour, bread, biscuit, and starch; and alfo to continue, for a further time, the prohibition of the making of low wines and fpirits from wheat, barley, malt, or any other fort of grain, or from meal or flour; and to prohibit for a limited time, the making of low wines and fpirits from bran, as prohibits the making of low wines and Spirits from bran; which was to continue until the twenty fourth day of December, one thousand feven hundred and fifty nine, fhould be, and the fame were thereby, continued, from the expiration thereof, until the twenty fourth day of December, one thousand feven hundred and fixty, unless fuch continuation of the faid acts, or of any parts thereof fhould, be abridged or shortened by any other act to be made in this present session of parliament; be it therefore enacted by the authority aforefaid, That The prohibifrom and after the twenty first day of April, one thousand seven tion of extrachundred and fixty, the prohibition eftablished and enacted by ting fpirits the faid acts of making, extracting, or diftilling, low wines and terials menspirits from wheat, barley, malt, or any other fort of grain, and tioned in the from meal, flour, or bran, or any mixture therewith, and all recited acts, penalties, powers, and regulations, in the faid acts, fo far as the taken off ; fame could or might extend or operate with respect to the making of low wines and fpirits from the materials aforefaid, after the faid twenty first day of April, one thousand feven hundred and fixty, fhall ceafe, and be no longer in force or effect, any thing in the said acts contained to the contrary notwithstanding.

VI. And whereas the oath appointed by an act of parliament made in the fixth year of his Majefty's reign, intituled, An act for repealing an act for laying a duty on compound waters or fpirits; and for licenfing the retailers thereof; and for determining certain duties on French brandy, and for granting other duties in lieu thereof; and for enforcing the laws for preventing the running of brandies, to be taken by the exporters of Spirits drawn from corn in Great Britain, has prevented the exportation of fuch fpirits after they have been rectified; be it therefore enacted by the authority aforefaid, That from and after the faid twenty firft day of April be taken by one thousand seven hundred and fixty, upon the exportation of the exporter, fuch rectified fpirits, inftead of the oath aforefaid, in order to in order to in- intitle the exporter to the drawback, allowance, or bounty, on the drawback, the exportation thereof, oath shall or may be made that the fame instead of the were drawn or made in Great Britain from corn, without any mixture with any other materials, either native or foreign, except what has been neceffary for the rectifying thereof; and that the duties of the faid fpirits have been duly paid; and that the said spirits are to be really and truly exported as merchandize to be spent beyond the feas.

VII. VIII. Provided always, That neither the said drawback or allow. goods, drawback, allowance, and bounty, that the fame, and every part thereof, fhall (the danger of the feas and enemies excepted) be really and truly exported to, and landed in, such port of the kingdom of Ireland, or fuch place in his Majesty's plantations in America, for which the fame was fo entered for exportation; and that the fame fhall not be exported or carried to any other place or country whatfoever, nor relanded in any part of Great Britain, or the islands of Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Sark, or Man, or either of them; and fuch bonds fo entered into fhall not be delivered up or difcharged, until a certificate fhall be produced under the hand and feal of the collector, comptroller, or furveyor of the customs, or other chief officer of the port in Ireland, or the plantations in America, where fuch fpirits fhall be landed, teftifying the landing thereof, and defcribing the number of the casks or other package containing the abroad, of the fpirits, and the particular marks of fuch casks or package, and due landing the exact quantity of spirits landed, and alfo teftifying, that the mafter, mate, purfer, or other perfon having the charge of the ship or veffel during the voyage in which the faid spirits were exported, had made oath before him, That the faid fpirits, and every part thereof, were fairly landed there, and that at the time of landing they were of the fame quality as when shipped on board; and that no part of fuch fpirits had been wilfully or fraudulently diminished, relanded, or unfhipped, fince the exportation thereof (which oath the faid respective officers in Ireland, andthe plantations in America, are hereby impowered to administer) and until oath fhall be made before the respective commiffioners of excife in Great Britain for the time being, or any one or more of them, or fuch other perfon or perfons as they fhall refpectively appoint for that purpofe (who is or are hereby respectively impowered to adminifter fuch oath) by the merchant exporter (if living) that to the beft of his, her, or their knowledge or belief, the said spirits had been difpofed of at the place or places mentioned in the oath referred to in the certificate: and the condition. of all fuch bonds to be given for the exportation of any fuch spirits. to Ireland, thall be, to produce fuch certificate in fix months from the date thereof (the danger of the feas and enemies excepted) and the condition of all fuch bonds to be given for the exfrom Ireland, portation of any such spirits to the plantations in America, thall be, to produce fuch certificate in eighteen months from the date tioned to be thereof (the danger of the feas and enemies excepted:) and in in 6 months; cafe any fuch fpirits fhall be entered for exportation to any other and from A parts beyond the feas in Europe, then the exporter or exporters merica, within thereof thall, before the fhipping of such spirits and the granting Like fecurity, fuch certificate, give bond, with fufficient fecurity, to his Ma&c. to be given jefty, his heirs, and fucceffors, to be approved of as aforesaid, on exporting in double the value of the goods, drawback, allowance, and fpirits to any bounty, that the fame, and every part thereof fhall (the danger of other parts of the feas and enemies excepted) be really and truly exported to,
