The committee have also had under consideration, a petition from the Parish of the Holy Trinity, in Carrol and Baltimore counties, to change the name and alter the bounds of said parish, and they recommend to the Convention the passage of the following act;

An act to alter the bounds and change the name of the Parish of the Holy Trinity, in Carrol and Baltimore counties.

Whereas, a petition has been made to this Convention to add to the Parish of the Holy Trinity, in Carrol and Baltimore counties, an adjoining part of Queen Caroline Parish, Anne Arundel county, with the consent of a majority of the members of the Protestant Episcopal Church qualified to vote for Vestrymen in said part of Queen Caroline Parish, and to change the name of the said Parish of the Holy Trinity; therefore,

Be it enacted, That the name of said parish henceforth be "the Parish the Holy Trinity, Carrol county," and that the following be the lines and boundaries of said parish: Beginning at Hamilton's Ford on the Patapsco Falls, and running with the public road to the Liberty Road-up the Liberty Road to the Deer Park Road-up the Deer Park Road, across the North branch of the Patapsco to Nicodemus' Mill Road-up said road to the old dividing line between Baltimore and Frederick counties-down said line to the line of Anne Arundel county, to wit: the Patapsco Falls-down the Falls to the Westminster and Washington Road-down said road to the old Frederick Road-down it to the Delaware Bottom Road, thence along said road back to the Falls, and down with the Patapsco Falls to the place of beginning and that the said Parish of the Holy Trinity, Carrol county, is hereby entitled to all the rights and privileges secured to other parishes by the Vestry Law of the State of Maryland, and by the Constitution and Canons of the Protestant Episcopal Church in this diocese.

The committee also took into consideration a petition from St. George's Church, Mount Savage, to be received into union with the Conventionand report that though they have no doubt that the laws of the State and the canons of the Church have been complied with by the petitioners, yet no evidence of the fact being furnished, the committee suggest that the petition be, for the present, deferred.

The missionary at St. George's Church entered upon the discharge of his duties on the third Sunday after Epiphany, 1847, and the above report contains the services performed since that time. The church is well attended, and much interest manifested in the services. He also officiates on the second and fourth Sundays in the month at the works of the "Maryland Mining Company," situated on the National Road, about two miles east of Frostburg, and about four miles from St. George's. There are eight church

families at this place, and the efforts to build a small stone edifice for the use of the congregation have been to a great degree successful. About six hundred dollars have been subscribed, and a part of the building materials are on the ground. He has administered at this place private baptism to one colored child.
