Ut sine timore, de manu inimicorum nostrorum liberati, serviamus illi.

In sanctitate et justitia coram ipso, omnibus diebus nostris.

As He spoke by the mouth of His holy Prophets who are from the beginning:

Salvation from our enemies: and from the hand of all that hate us.

To perform mercy to our fathers: and to remember His holy testament.

The oath which He swore to Abraham our father: that He would grant to us:

That being delivered from the hands of our enemies we may serve Him without fear.

In holiness and justice before Him: all our days.

And thou, child, shalt be called the Prophet of the Most High; for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare His ways.

To give knowledge of salvation to His people : for the remission of their sins.

Through the tender mercy of our God in which the Orient from on high hath visited us.

Then, one of the following Anthems:

1. In Advent. The Lord will come, and will not tarry; He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and manifest Himself to all nations.

2. From Christmas to the Octave of the Epiphany. The Root of Jesse hath budded forth, the Star is risen out of Jacob: a Virgin hath brought forth the Saviour; we praise Thee, O our God, alleluia.

3. From 14 Jan. to the Tuesday after Quinquagesima. As at No. 6.

4. Ash Wednesday to Wednesday in Holy Week. Behold this is the acceptable time: behold this is the day of salvation. Let us, therefore, show ourselves servants of God; in much patience, in fasting, in watching, and in charity unfeigned.

5. Easter-day to the day before Trinity Sunday. The Lord hath reigned: He is clothed with beauty; the Lord is clothed with strength, and He hath girded Himself with valour, alleluia.

6. Trinity Sunday to the day before Advent. On Sundays. Blessed art Thou, O Lord, in the firmament of heaven, and to be praised and glorified for ever.

On week-days. Let us serve the Lord in holiness all our days and He will direct our feet into the way of peace.

:

7. Feasts of Our Lord. Thy kingdom, O Lord,

is a kingdom of all ages, and Thy dominion endureth to all generations (alleluia).

8. Feasts of Our Lady. Happy art thou, O Virgin Mary, and worthy of all praise: because from thee arose the Sun of Justice, Christ our Lord (alleluia).

9. Feasts of Angels. Bless the Lord all ye His Angels; you that are mighty in strength, to execute His word (alleluia).

10. Feasts of Saints. Ye Saints and Just, rejoice in the Lord: you hath God chosen for an heritage to Himself (alleluia).

11. For the Dead. Thou, O Lord, who wilt come to judge the living and the dead, and the world by fire: grant them rest and a place of indulgence.
