36 Y sentados allí le guardaban.

37 Y pusieron sobre su cabeza su causa escrita: ESTE ES JESUS, EL REY DE LOS JUDIOS.

38 Entonces crucificaron con él dos ladrones: uno á la derecha, y otro á la izquierda.

39 Y los que pasaban, le decían injurias meneando la cabeza.

40 Y diciendo: Tú que destruyes el templo, y en tres dias lo reedificas, sálvate á tí mismo: Si eres Hijo de Dios, desciende de la cruz.

41 Asímismo escarneciendole tambien los Príncipes de los Sacerdotes con los Escribas y los Ancianos decían.

42 A otros salvó, y á sí mismo no puede salvarse: si él es Rey de Israel, descienda ahora de la cruz, y le creeremos.

43 Confió en Dios: librelo ahora si le quiere: pues dijo: Hijo soy de Dios.

44 De la misma manera le improperaban los ladrones, que estaban crucificados con él.

45 Y desde la hora sexta quedó toda la tierra cubierta de tinieblas hasta la hora de nona.

46 Y cerca la hora de nona Jesus exclamó con grande voz diciendo: Elí Elí Lama Sabacthaní, que quiere decir: Dios mio, Dios mio, ¿porqué me habeis desamparado?

47 Y algunos de los que estaban allí, cuando lo oyeron decían: A Elías llama este.

48 Y luego corriendo uno de ellos tomó una esponja, y empapóla en vinagre, poniendola en una caña, dabale de beber.

49 Y los otros decían: Dejad, veamos si viene Elías á librarle.

36 And sitting down they watched him there;

37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS. 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him; one on the right hand, and another on the

left.

39 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, 40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God. 44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.

45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.

48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.

49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.

50 Mas Jesus habiendo otra vez clamado con grande voz, entregó el espíritu.

51 Y he aquí el velo del templo se rasgó en dos partes de arriba abajo, y tembló la tierra, y las piedras se hendieron.

52 Y se abrieron los sepulcros, y muchos cuerpos de santos que habían dormido se levantaron.

53 Y saliendo de los sepulcros despues de la resurreccion de él, vinieron á la ciudad santa, y aparecieron á muchos.

54 Y cuando el centurion y los que estaban con él guardando a Jesus, vieron el terremoto, y las cosas que habían acontecido, tuvieron gran miedo, y decían: Verdaderamente este erá Hijo de Dios. 55 Y había allí muchas mugeres mirando de lejos, que habían seguido á Jesus desde Galiléa sirviendole.

56 Entre las cuales estaba María Magdalena, y María madre de Jacobo, y Joses, y la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo.

57 Y llegada la tarde, vinó un hombre rico de Arimathea llamado Joseph, el cual era tambien discípulo de Jesus.

58 Este fué á Pilato, y le pidió el cuerpo de Jesus: Entonces Pilato mandó que se le diese el cuerpo. 59 Y tomando Joseph el cuerpo, envolvióle en una sabana limpia.

60 Y pusóle en un sepulcro suyo nuevo, que había labrado en una peña, y revuelta una gran piedra á la entrada del sepulcro fuése.

61 Y estaban allí María Magdalena, y la otra María sentadas en frente del sepulcro.

62 Y el dia inmediato que sigue á la preparacion de la Pascua, los Príncipes de los Sacerdotes y los Phariseos llegaron juntos á Pilato, 63 Diciendo: nos acordamos, que aquel impostor dijó aun viviendo:

58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. 59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate, 63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was

5 Y el angel tomando la palabra dijó á las mugeres: no hayais miedo vosotras, porque sé que buscais á Jesus que fué crucificado.

6 No está aquí: porque ha resucitado como dijó: venid, y ved el lugar donde fué puesto el Señor.

7 E id presto, y decid á sus discípulos que ha resucitado de entre los muertos. Y he aquí va delante á Galiléa: Allí le veréis. He aquí os lo he dicho.

8 Y ellas salieron al punto del sepulcro, con temor y con grande gozo, y corrieron á dar las nuevas á sus discípulos.

9 Y he aquí Jesus les sale al encuentro diciendo, Dios os guarde.

5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them,

Y ellas se llegaron á él, abrazaronle sus pies y le adoraron.

10 Entonces les dijó Jesus: No temais: id, y dad las nuevas á mis hermanos que vayan á Galiléa, y allí me verán.

11 Y mientras ellas iban, he aquí algunos de los guardas fueron á la ciudad, y dieron aviso á los Príncipes de los Sacerdotes de todo lo que había acontecido.

12 Y habiendose juntado con los Ancianos y habido consejo, dieron una gran suma de dinero á los soldados.

13 Diciendo: decid, vinieron sus discípulos de noche, y le hurtaron mientras nosotros estabamos durmiendo.

14 Y si esto llegase á oidos del Presidente, nosotros le persuadiremos, y mirarémos por vuestra seguridad.

15 Y ellas tomando el dinero, hiciéron conforme se les había instruido. Y esta voz es general entre los Judios aun hoy dia.

16 Entonces los once discípulos, se fueron á Galiléa al monte donde Jesus les había mandado.

17 Y cuando le vieron, le adoraron, mas algunos dudaban.

18 Y llegando Jesus les habló diciendo: toda potestad me es dada en el cielo y en la tierra.

19 Id pues, y enseñad á todas las gentes, bautizandolas en el nombre del Padre, del Hijo, y del Espiritu Santo,

20 Enseñandolas á guardar todas las cosas que os he mandado. Y he aquí yo estoy con vosotros todos los dias hásta el fin del mundo, Amen.

saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.

10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.

12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,

13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
