2 Pesandoles de que enseñasen al pueblo, y de que anunciasen en el nombre de Jesus, la resurreccion de los muertos.

3 Y les echaron mano, y los pusieron en la carcel hásta el dia siguiente, porque erá ya tarde.

4 Mas muchos de los que habían oido la palabra, creyeron, y fué el número de los varones como de cinco mil.

5 Y aconteció, que al dia siguiente los Príncipes de ellos, y los Ancianos, y los Escribas,

6 Y Anás Príncipe de los Sacerdotes, y Caiphas, y Juan, y Alejandro, y todos cuantos eran del linage sacerdotal se juntaron en Jerusalem.

7 Y haciendolos presentar en medio, les preguntaron: ¿con qué poder, ó en nombre de quién habeis hecho vosotros esto?

8 Entonces Pedro lleno de Espíritu Santo, les dijó: Príncipes del pueblo, y Ancianos de Israel.

9 Ya que hoy se nos pide razon beneficio hecho á un hombre enfermo para saber de que manera haya sido curado.

10 Sea notorio á todos vosotros, y á todo el pueblo de Israel, que en el nombre de Jesu-Christo Nazareno, á quien vosotros crucificasteis, y a quien Dios resucitó de entre los muertos; por virtud de él está sano este delante de vosotros.

11 Esta es la piedra reprobada de vosotros los arquitectos, la cual es puesta por cabeza del ángulo.

12 Y no hay salud en ningun otro; porque no hay otro nombre debajo del cielo, dado á los hombres, en el cual nos convenga ser salvos.

13 Ellos viendo el denuedo de Pedro y de Juan, y sabiendo que eran hombres sin letras, y legos, se maravillaban, y los reconocían que habian estado con Jesus.

5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,

6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.

7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,

9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;

10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.

11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. 14 And beholding the man which

15 Mas los mandaron salir fuera del Sinedro, y conferenciaban entre sí,

16 Diciendo: ¿qué les harémos á estos hombres? Porque un milagro patente ha sido hecho por ellos, que es notorio á cuantos moran en Jerusalem; y no lo podemos negar.

17 Todavia paraque no se divulgue mas por el pueblo, amenacemosles que de aquí en adelante no hablen mas á hombre alguno en este nombre.

18 Y llamandolos, les intimaron que nunca mas hablasen, ni enseñasen en el nombre de Jesus.

19 Mas Pedro y Juan respondiendo, les digeron: Si es justo delante de Dios oiros antes á vosotros, que á Dios, juzgadlo vosotros.

20 Porque no podemos dejar de hablar, lo que hemos visto y oido.

21 Y habiendoles amenazado de nuevo, los dejaron ir libres, no hallando porque castigarlos por causa del pueblo. Porque todos glorificaban á Dios de lo que había sido hecho.

22 Por cuanto tenía ya mas de quarenta años el hombre, en quien había sido hecho este milagro de sanidad.

23 Puestos ellos en libertad, vinieron á los suyos, y les contaron todo lo que los Príncipes de los Sacerdotes, y los Ancianos les habían

dicho.

24 Los cuales habiendolo oido, unánimes levantaron la voz á Dios, y digeron: Señor, tú eres el Dios que hiciste el cielo, y la tierra, el mar y todo lo que hay en ellos.

25 Que en Espíritu Santo, por boca de tu siervo David digiste,

15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,

16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.

18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. 19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.

20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.

21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.

22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.

23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.

24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is;

25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the

3 Y dijó Pedro: Ananías, ¿porqué Satanás ha llenado tu corazon paraque mintieses tú al Espíritu Santo, defraudases del precio del campo? 4 Quedandose ¿no quedaba para 1? y vendido, ¿no estaba en tu Soder? ¿Porqué pusiste pues esto in tú corazon? No has mentido á os hombres, sino á Dios.

15 Entonces Ananías oyendo estas labras, cayó y espiró. Y vinó un fran temor sobre todos los que lo Jyeron.

10 Al punto cayó á sus pies, y espiró: Y habiendo entrado los mancebos, la hallaron muerta, y la sacaron, y enterraron junto a su marido.

11 Y sobrevino un gran temor en toda la Iglesia, y en todos los que oyeron estas cosas.

UT a certain man named Ana

sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back

part of the price of the land? 4 While it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out. 10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
