2 Porque nada hay encubierto, que no se haya de descubrir, ni nada oculto, que no se haya de saber.

3 Por tanto las cosas que digisteis en tinieblas, á la luz serán oidas; y las que hablasteis al oido en los aposentos, serán pregonadas en los tejados.

4 Os digo pues amigos mios, no tengais miedo á los que matan el cuerpo, y despues de esto no tienen mas que hacer.

5 Mas yo os enseñaré á quien habeis de temer. Temed á aquel, que despues que hubiere quitado la vida, tiene poder de echar al infierno; así os digo, á él temed.

6 ¿No se venden cinco pajarillos por dos blancas, y ni uno de ellos está olvidado de Dios?

7 Y aun los cabellos de vuestra cabeza estan todos contados. No temais pues: porque de mas estima sois vosotros, que muchos pajarillos.

8 Y tambien os digo: que todo aquel que me confesare delante de los hombres, tambien el Hijo del hombre le confesará delante de los ángeles de Dios.

9 Mas él que me negare delante de los hombres, será negado delante de los ángeles de Dios?

10 Y todo el que dice palabra contra el Hijo del hombre, perdonado le será, mas él que blasfemare contra el Espíritu Santo, no le será perdonado.

11 Y cuando os llevaren á las Sinagogas, y á los Magistrados, y á las Potestades, no andeis solícitos como, ó que habeis de responder, ó lo que habeis de decir. 12 Porque el Espíritu Santo os enseñará en la misma hora lo que sea menester decir.

2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

3 Therefore, whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

4 And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

6 Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?

7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.

8 Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:

9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.

10 And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven. 11 And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:

12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought

14 Mas él le dijo: Hombre, ¿quién me constituye juez ó partidor sobre vosotros?

15 Y les dijó: Mirad, y guardaos de la codicia; porque la vida del hombre no consiste en la abundancia de los bienes, que posee.

14 And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?

15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

18 Y dijó: esto haré: derribaré mis graneros, y los haré mayores, y allí recogeré todos mis frutos, y mis bienes.

19 Y diré á mi alma; Alma, muchos bienes tienes allegados para muchos años: Descansa: come, bebe, y huelgate.

20 Y le dijó Dios: Necio, esta noche te demandarán el alma, y lo que has aparejado ¿ de quién será?

18 And he said, This will I do : I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. 19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

22 Y dijó á sus discípulos: Por tanto os digo: No esteis solícitos para vuestra vida, qué comeréis, ni para el cuerpo, qué vestiréis.

23 La vida mas es que la comida; y el cuerpo mas que el vestido.

24 Considerad los cuervos que no siembran, ni siegan, ni tienen dispensa, ni granero, y Dios los alimenta. Pues¿ de cuánta mas estima sois vosotros que las aves?

25 ¿Quién de vosotros podrá con toda su solicitud, añadir un codo á su estatura?

26 Pues si no podeis aun lo que

22 T And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.

23 The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.

24 Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?

25 And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?

26 If ye then be not able to do

27 Considerad los lirios como crecen: no labran, ni hilan; pues os digo, que ni Salomon con toda su gloria se vistió como uno de ellos.

28 Y si á la yerba, que hoy está en el campo y mañana se echa en el horno, viste Dios así: ¿cuánto mas á vosotros hombres de poca fé?

29 No andeis pues afanados por lo que habeis de comer, ó habeis de beber, y no seais de ánimo dudoso. 30 Porque tras todas estas cosas andan las gentes del mundo. Y vuestro Padre sabe, que habeis menester estas cosas.

31 Mas buscad antes el reyno de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.

32 No temais ó pequeña grey, porque à vuestro Padre plugo daros el reyno.

33 Vended lo que poseeis, y dad limosna: haceos bolsas, que no se envegecen: Tesoro en los cielos, que nunca falta, donde ladron no llega, ni polilla roe.

34 Porque donde está vuestro tesoro, allí estará tambien vuestro

corazon.

35 Tened vuestros lomos ceñidos, y vuestras velas encendidas. 36 Y vosotros sed semejantes á hombres, que esperan que su Señor vuelva de las bodas, paraque cuando viniere, y llamare, luego le abran.

37 Bienaventurados aquellos siervos, á quienes cuando vuelva el Señor hallare velando. En verdad, os digo que él se ceñirá y hará que se sienten á la mesa, y pasando les servirá.

38 Y sea que venga á la segunda vela, ó que venga á la tercera vela, si así los hallare, bienaventurados son los tales siervos.

27 Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? 29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.

31 ¶ But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.

32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

36 And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that, when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

38 And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

39 Esto empero sabed, que si supiese el padre de familias á que hora había de venir el ladron, velaría sin duda, y no dejaría minar

su casa.

40 Vosotros pues estad tambien apercibidos, porque á la hora que no pensais, vendrá el Hijo del hombre.

41 Entónces Pedro le dijó: Señor, ¿nos dices esta parábola á nosotros, ó tambien á todos ?

42 Y dijó el Señor: ¿quién es el mayordomo fiel y prudente, á quién el Señor pondrá sobre su familia, paraque les dé su racion correspondiente á su debido tiempo?

43 Bienaventurado aquel siervo, que cuando el Señor viniere, le hallare haciendo así.

44 En verdad os digo, que él le pondrá sobre todos sus bienes.

45 Mas si el tal siervo digere en su corazon: Mi Señor se tarda en venir, y comenzáre á herir á los criados, y á las criadas, y á comer, y á beber, y á embriagarse.

46 Vendrá el Señor de aquel siervo al dia que él no espera, y á la hora que él no sabe, y le apartará, y pondrá su suerte con los infieles.

47 Porque el siervo que supó la voluntad de su Señor, y no se apercibió, y no hizó conforme á su voluntad, será castigado con muchos

azotes.

48 Mas él que no la supó, y cometió cosas dignas de ser azotado, será castigado con pocos azotes: porque al que mucho le fué dado, mucho le será pedido. Y al que mucho le encomendaron, mucho mas le demandarán.

49 Fuego vine á meter en la tierra, y que quiero si está ya encendido?

39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?

42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.

45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;

46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.

47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the

more.

49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled ?

50 Empero con un bautismo es menester que yo sea bautizado: Y¡ como me angustio hasta que se cumpla !

51 ¿Creeis que he venido á dar paz á la tierra? Os digo que no,

sino disension.

52 Porque de aquí en adelante habrá cinco en una casa, y estarán divididos los tres contra los dos, y los dos contra los tres.

53 El padre estará dividido contra el hijo, y el hijo contra el padre: la madre contra la hija, y la hija contra la madre; la suegra contra su nuera, y la nuera contra su suegra,

54 Y decía tambien al pueblo : cuando veis asomar una nube del poniente, inmediatamente decis. Agua viene, y es así.

55 Y cuando sopla el Austro, decis: calor hará, y así sucede.

56 Hipócritas, sabeis distinguir la faz del cielo, y de la tierra: ¿cómo es que no distinguis este tiempo?

57 Mas ¿porqué aun de vosotros mismos no juzgais lo que es justo? 58 Cuando vas con tu contrario al magistrado, mientras estás en el camino, haz lo posible por reconciliarte con él, paraque no te lleve al juez, y el juez te entregue al ministro, y el ministro te meta en la carcel.

59 Te digo, que no saldrás de allí, hásta que hayas satisfecho el postrer cornado.

50 But I have a baptism to be baptized with; and how am I straitened till it be accomplished!

51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52 For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

53 The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

54 ¶ And he said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower; and so it is.

55 And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will be heat; and it cometh to pass.

56 Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern this time?

57 Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right? 58 When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer cast thee into prison. 59 I tell thee, thou shalt not depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
