Saviour of the whole World, and that the Time was come wherein Mankind in general fhould be called to the Knowledge of the True God; affuring them, that fuch as believed in him, and truly repented, fhould receive the full Remiffion of their Sins here, and be made Partakers of everlafting Happinefs hereafter. In Order to demonftrate the Truth of what he had afferted, and to convince them that he really was the Son of Gon, he wrought an infinite Number of Miracles. By his Word alone all Manner of Difeafes were cured: He made the Blind to fee, the Deaf to hear, the Dumb to fpeak, and restored thofe who were poffeffed with Devils. He fed, in a very miraculous Manner, above five thoufand in the Wilderness, with only five Loaves and two fmall Fishes; and after they had eaten and were filled, there were taken up twelve Baskets of the Fragments. He reftor'd to Life the Daughter of Jairus; and raifed Lazarus from the Grave, after he had been buried four Days. In this Manner, and in the conftant Practice of the moft fhining Virtues, did the bleffed JESUS employ his whole Life. He was meek and lowly, affable and courteous, and endured with Patience the Stings of Penury, and the Infolence of the Vulgar. He fhewed the tendereft Affection for all fuch as were defirous of being converted, and was deeply concerned for all obftinate and impenirent Sinners. In all his Actions he aimed
