She having dressed for church, was ehearfully conversing with a friend who called on her before the afternoon service, and was congratulating her on her high health and spirits, when she suddenly dropped down dead upon the hearth, without attering a groan. A vein was immediately opened, and the most proper measures that medical skill could suggest for restoring suspended animation were resorted to; but all in vain. The heart had totally ceased its action, and not a fibre was observed to quiver. - Mr William Bell, preacher of the gospel, son of Mr David Bell, of Newhall, on the Water of Milk.
