Sex in Islam and other world Religions, Towards a Global Ethos of Human Sexual Expression describes the views of six major religions or worldviews¡ªBuddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Paganism, and Taoism¡ªconcerning human sexual expression, and advocates a new global sexual ethos based on Paganism and science that rejects the restrictions placed on sexual expression by the other five worldviews. The author suggests that five of the worldviews considered here¡ªBuddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, and Taoism¡ªwere probably evolutionary mistakes that should be rejected. To further a global sexual ethos, he argues that we need a definition of the family that goes beyond that found in the UN¡_s Declaration of Human Rights, the absolute equality of women, universal acceptance of same-sex relations, elimination of genital mutilation of both sexes, legalization of prostitution, education in auto-sexuality and widespread dissemination of contra-infectives.
