22 JESUS saith to him: I say not to thee, till seven times; but till seventy times seven times. 23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened to a king, who would take an account of his servants. 24 And when he had begun to take the account, one was brought to him, that owed him jen thousand talents. 25 And as he had not wherewith to pay it, his lord commanded that he should be sold, and his wife and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. 26 But that servant falling down, besought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 27 And the lord of that servant being moved with pity, let him go and forgave him the debt. 28 But when that servant was gone out, he found one of his fellow-servants that owed him an hundred pence: and laying hold of him, he throttled him, saying: Pay what thou owest. 29 And his fellow-servant, falling down, besought him, saying: Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. 30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he paid the debt. 31 Now his fellow-servants seeing what was done, were very much grieved, and they Ver. 24. CHAP. XIX. Christ declares matrimony to be indis. soluble: he recommends the making one's-self an eunuch for the kingdom of heaven; and parting with all things for him, He shews the danger of riches, and the reward of leaving all to follow him. In the case of fornication, that is, of adultery, the wife may be put away: but even then the husband cannot marry another as long as the wife is living. Ver. 11. All men take not this word. That is, all receive not the gift of living, singly and chastely, unless they pray for the grace of God to enable them to live so, and for some it may be necessary to that end to fast as well as pray and to those it is given from above. ver. 12. There are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. This text is not forbid them not to come to me: for the kingdom of heaven is for such. 15 And when he had imposed hands upon them, he departed from thence. 16 And behold one came and said to him: Good master, what good shall I do that I may have life everlasting? 17 Who said to him: Why askest thou me concerning good? One is good, God. But if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He said to him: Which? For many are called, but few chosen. 17 And JESUS going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples apart, and said to them: 18 Behold we go up to Jerusalem, and the son of man shall be betrayed to the chief priests and the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death. 19 And shall deliver him to the gentiles to be mocked, and scourged, and crucified, and the third day he shall rise again. 20 Then came to him the mother of the sons of Zebedee with her sons, adoring and ing something of him. 23 He saith to them: My chalice indeed you shall drink: but to sit on my right or left hand, is not mine to give to you, but to them for whom it is prepared by my Father. 24 And the ten hearing it, were moved with indignation against the two brethren. 25 But JESUS called them to him, and said: You know that the princes of the gentiles lord it over them: and they that are the greater, exercise power upon them. 26 It shall not be so among you, but whosoever will be the greater among you, let him be your minister. 27 And he that will be first. among you, shall be your servant. 28 Even as the son of man is not come to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a redemption for many. 29 And when they went out from Jericho, a great multitude followed him. 30 And behold two blind men ask-sitting by the way side, heard that JESUS passed by, and they cried out, saying: O Lord, thou son of David, have mercy on 21 Who said to her: What wilt thou?
