LECTURES ON SANITARY LAW BY exiexander A. WYNTER BLYTH M.R.C.S. (ENGLAND), L.S.A. (LONDON) FELLOW OF THE INSTITUTE OF CHEMISTRY PROFESSOR OF HYGIENE, COLLEGE OF STATE MEDICINE LONDON MACMILLAN AND CO. AND NEW YORK 1893 PREFACE THE following pages contain twelve lectures on Sanitary Law delivered by the Author at the College of State Medicine as part of the usual course of instruction in Sanitary Science. They have been collected and published in a belief that they will be useful to those who desire to obtain, in a small compass, a general view of the powers and duties of local authorities in relation to the public health. In the Appendix are examples of bye-laws relating to offensive trades with other matters, and, since no lecture has been given on the law relating to adulteration, the Statutes specially treating of the inspection and examination of food are also inserted.
