Mr. Beesley, of Summer Town, Oxford, has sold his yearling colt The Mayor of Oxford, by Dulcimer, out of Flacrow's dam, to Mr. Y. King, of Stockbridge. Mr. Wright, of Richmond, York, his yearling colt Melsonby, by Birdcatcher, out of Prairie Bird, by Touchstone, to the Earl of Glasgow. Mr. J. Davies, Titterstone to Mr. Gulliver, and he has joined Stevens's string at Ilsley. Mr. G. Harvey has purchased Pembedw, 3 yrs., Dresser, 3 yrs., and Marmion, 2 yrs., from Mr. T. V. Turner, and they are gone into Daley's stable at Newmarket. Vampyre, by Mus, out of Firefly, has been sold to go to Spain. Mr. G. Drewe has sold Vulcan; and Mr. Lord, Gossip to Mr. W. Bushell.
The Irish mare Angelica, engaged in the Oaks, died a few days before the race. The really "Old" King Cole is also in the obituary; he was a Chester Cup winner. J. Dockeray is engaged as regular jockey by Mr. E. R. Clark. Henry Goater has left the Woodyeates stable for Mr. Howard's, at Findon; and the light-weight Garvey is dead.
